ABC's recent cancellation of Roseanne has prompted people to suggest other projects to replace the canned sitcom - including fans of Marvel's Agent Carter who are pushing for the show's revival. As a part of ABC’s cancellation binge back in 2016, the Hayley Atwell-starring Marvel series was unceremoniously axed from the network's program roster leaving fans shocked and disappointed, especially since the show seemed to have more stories to tell.

Season 2 of Marvel's Agent Carter saw the S.H.I.E.L.D. pioneer treading a different arc with her move to Los Angeles and exposure to Zero Matter. For a time, people predicted that this would lead to a direct tie-in to Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, but with the show canceled before it was even fully explored, it's now nothing but a huge "what if" topic for fans. But, if ABC gives in to people's calls for the show's revival, there might still be a chance to learn more about that part of Peggy's life before Steve Rogers saw her again decades later.

Fans of Marvel's Agent Carter have taken it to Twitter to suggest the series be the replacement for Roseanne on ABC's Tuesday block. While there's no official petition page just yet - or hashtag for that matter - loyal followers of the show have voiced their sentiments calling for the network to revive the series. Check out some of the tweets below:

If ABC decides to breathe new life to Marvel's Agent Carter, it's unclear if the show will move forward with the intended plan for its supposed third season. Atwell, who has been vocal about wanting to reprise the role if given the opportunity, previously revealed that the show's writers were planning a plot twist that involved Peggy's family. Considering how the MCU as a whole has changed since the last time the series was on the air, it would be interesting to see if they would continue with their original narrative or they change it for the sake of tying the project to the bigger canon that it's supposed to be a part of.

Realistically, Marvel's Agent Carter's chances of being revived at ABC isn't necessarily huge, especially with a lot of shows vying for the network's current programming gap. Then again, fans' efforts in pushing for another season might not be entirely wasted considering that the clamor for the series could motivate the people at Marvel and Disney to give the show another outing at their in-development streaming service due to launch in 2019.

Whether ABC heeds this particular fan campaign or not remains to be seen. But if anything, there's still a chance that fans will see Atwell back in her Marvel role. Persistent rumors suggest that the actress will make an appearance in next year's Avengers 4 as part of Steve's arc in the movie. Considering that time travel will most probably factor in the Phase 3 capper, this is not outside the realm of possibility. Other speculations are also pegging her to make a cameo in Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. However it pans out, no one's opposed to seeing Carter back on the big or small screen.
