WandaVision star Kathryn Hahn expertly dodges questions regarding Mephisto appearing in the spin-off series Agatha: House of Harkness. Hahn made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the first Disney+ series centered on Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany's titular characters as they find themselves living in a sitcom-based alternate reality in which Vision is alive despite his death in Avengers: Infinity War. Hahn's Agnes was originally introduced as the overly nosey neighbor to the couple, though was later revealed to be a witch after Wanda's powers helped manifest the mysterious area known as The Hex.

Hahn received rave reviews for her performance in WandaVision, largely considered a breakout character for the series and leaving many eager to see her return. The star also earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and her villain-revealing song "Agatha All Along" from writers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez winning the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics. This success led to the announcement of the spin-off, Agatha: House of Harkness, and Hahn is already working to dodge key questions for the in-development series.

Hahn recently caught up with The Drew Barrymore Show to discuss her upcoming career, namely the MCU. When asked about Mephisto appearing in Agatha: House of Harkness, the star expertly dodged the question, noting she didn't even know the title of the show until it was announced during Disney+ Day and deflecting when asked about who she'd cast in the part. See what Hahn said below:

"I didn't even know the title of the show until it was released to the public, they keep it so tight. I keep hearing [about Mephisto], I have no idea, that was a big thing during WandaVision. I think right now, anything is possible at Marvel, but I've never heard anything definitive about that at all. All I'll say to deflect that is that there is something that does feel so badass to be playing — we think of a witch and you think of a woman who is loud, who is mysterious, who is dangerous because she's complicated and she's misunderstood. All that stuff is a turn-on to me as a performer to sink my teeth into."

Mephisto smiles and bares his fangs in Marvel Comics.

Hahn's reference of Mephisto being the "big thing" during WandaVision is quite the understatement, with the devilish character having seen a rise in popularity as audiences theorized him to be the key antagonist behind the MCU series. The show's finale left many disappointed due to the ultimate reveal that Harkness was not working with Mephisto, leading to many continuing their speculations of Mephisto's arrival with Loki and the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Given Agatha and Mephisto's ties in the comics, the announcement of Agatha: House of Harkness has once again ignited the flame of the theory mill he could make an appearance in the show.

With two years under her belt with Marvel Studios, Hahn has clearly mastered the art of MCU secrecy when it comes to interviews. Her discussions surrounding Agatha: House of Harkness have been no different, with Hahn essentially denying the WandaVision spin-off existing just weeks prior to it being properly announced during Disney+ Day. Thanks to Hahn's new deal with Marvel, fans can look forward to seeing far more of Agatha in the MCU on both the big and small screens in the future.
