With the news that Marvel Studios will be producing a WandaVision spinoff focusing on Agatha Harkness, fans are already excited to see the return of their favorite witch. It was always clear that the character would come back in some capacity, but there are now so many more storytelling opportunities on the table.

Taking to Reddit in reaction to the character and the news of her return, fans have been sharing their thoughts on exactly what they'd like to see from the talented Kathryn Hahn and her maniacal magic wielder. Amongst these ideas are fun crossovers, future team-ups, and even major plot points that could redefine the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A Mordo Team-Up

It's easy to link Agatha Harkness to Doctor Strange and those contending to be the Sorcerer Supreme. Among Marvel's mystical realms is also Baron Mordo, whom fans like CaptainBananaFish feel ought to team up with Agatha Harkness at some stage in the MCU.

They make a logical point that Mordo "thinks there are 'too many sorcerers' and Agatha can absorb people's magical powers." The pairing would genuinely work, and the dynamic would be an intriguing one, with the Baron playing the straight-man to Agatha's wild sense of humor.

Establishing The Warlock

Other fans have noted their interest in seeing Mordo and Agatha cross paths in the future, either in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness or indeed on the Disney+ show. However, EatSmallLiftSmall warns of a slightly darker take on the interaction which would establish Mordo as a major threat.

They remark that "Oof what if Mordo just wipes her out immediately to establish him as a threat. That would suck man." CalicusMinimus provides a great solution that they would want to see, saying that "A good alternative would be she tries to drain his magic, and he does an Uno reverse on her. She won’t die but she might be temporarily demagicked." This might lead to a compelling arc while strengthening the Doctor Strange villain.

Redemption

Fans have been drawn to Agatha Harkness in WandaVision, but they are still struggling with the idea that she's actually a villain. RavenFlamingo makes a compelling case saying, "People ignore that Scarlet Witch is the bad guy of WandaVision and all Agatha is trying to do is educate this witch that she's doing magic that's really bad."

They also suggest that Wanda could become the next Thanos-level threat of the MCU leading to "a moment where they know they need help from someone on her level to try to take her down and then they cut to the Welcome to Westview sign." This could result in a more redemptive arc and also a really special sequence for Agatha fans.

Ant-Man Crossover

The joy of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is seeing completely different characters interact with one another. Marvel Studios tends to take a comedic approach to these crossovers, and Weave77 has a very simple request: "I reeaalllyyy hope she shares a scene or two with Ant-Man."

Though Ant-Man and Agatha Harkness are unlikely to be great friends, it actually calls back to the relationship that Paul Rudd and Kathryn Hahn have on Parks and RecreationGilbraith very simply draws attention to the fact that Hahn's character Jennifer Barkley mentored Rudd's Bobby Newport in his political campaign on the show. It would be a fun Easter egg for TV fans to spot.

Agatha Variant

Although fans like t_robb1108 have put a lot of thought into the idea that Agatha could have a variant or be manipulated into turning into Alice in Step Brothersthe variant idea, in general, is one that could be used again after the fallout from Loki

Sexygodzilla commented that they "wouldn't be surprised to see an Agatha variant who didn't kill Sparky" or some other version of the character. They note that, "Real or not, killing the dog could've been important to the sacred timeline!" This is a unique take, but it's one that plays with the classic multiverse concept set up in the MCU in a fun way and would force Agatha to question her multiverse meddling.

S.W.O.R.D. Interference

Now that Agatha has been forced to live a conventional life in Westview, it has drawn the question of what happens to her next. linkman0596 has theorized that a faction from WandaVision might not be totally finished with the ancient sorceress.

They write, "My guess is S.W.O.R.D. is going to supervise her, similar to what early theories of what people thought they were doing with Wanda." It's unclear what the group may get from the witch, but it's a sub-plot that would carefully line up the conclusion of WandaVision and the beginning of her spinoff. RalphSkipperson raises a good question though: "Wonder who’s leading the charge with Heyward out."

The Richards

Reddit user poondaedalin reminds fans that "back in the day, she was Franklin Richards’ nanny," voicing their hope that Agatha will interact with the Fantastic Four in the MCU. They certainly aren't the only fan to make this connection though, potentially spoiling the future of the character.

LittleYellowFish1 remarks on Agatha's upcoming roles, writing, "At the very least I'd like for her to still be around when Franklin and Valeria Richards are introduced." This comment once again makes the link between Marvel's first family and Harkness. Agatha could very well be a corrupting influence on the young kids, with her spinoff show demonstrating she really is the worst babysitter.

The Dark Avengers

Marvel appears to be heading toward some kind of Dark Avengers incarnation in the MCU, and they will likely need someone to masquerade as or at least match the abilities of Scarlet Witch. Agatha Harkness is perfect for that role, and fans are letting their opinion known on the matter.

Scoob1978 wrote that, in a future appearance she'll be "the Scarlet Witch part of Val's Dark Avengers." SamaritanPrime commented, "If there's going to be a knockoff Avengers squad, you need a knockoff Sorcerer Supreme" and noted that Agatha would be a great fit. So fans clearly want to see Valentina make an appearance in the Disney+ spinoff.

The Salem Trials

The Salem Witch Trials are an important part of Agatha's timeline, with her origins showcasing that even other witches once hunted Harkness for her power and greed. When discussing spinoff ideas, bicentee wrote, "I'd watch an Agatha Harkness movie about the Salem trials and prosecutions."

SquarePeg37 backed up the idea. They commented, "Honestly sounds like it could almost be its own show." If Kevin Feige is looking for Disney+ ideas, then this is one the audience would get a lot from. It's interesting to see how both real-world and MCU history intertwine.

Further Development

It's clear that fans adored Katheryn Hahn's portrayal of the character and really made Agatha a highlight of the MCU, bringing her to life in a way that other performers might not have been able to. A spinoff show gives Marvel Studios a brand new opportunity, though.

badolcatsyl suggests the show could be used to "develop Agatha into the morally grey mentor role she usually has in traditional Marvel stories." However, while some may levy the idea that WandaVision actually creates quite a bad antagonist in Agatha, Royal-Roll7762 counters, "I wouldn’t say she’s inherently 'bad' she’s just underdeveloped. But in terms of personality, she soars above a majority of the villains." The Disney+ show would be able to address these criticisms head-on with more creative space for the character.
