Each episode explores a different character's perspective and recollection of what happened that night. In addition to Franco, The Afterparty cast includes Tiffany Haddish, Sam Richardson, Zoë Chao, Ike Barinholtz, Ilana Glazer, and Jamie Demetriou. Following its debut, the show received praise from critics for its performances and ability to effectively blend genres.
Now, The Afterparty put out its first Xavier music video on Vevo, highlighting Dave Franco at his weirdest. The video for the single, "Imma Live Forever," emphasizes in the beginning that it was written, directed, produced, and performed by Xavier, and retrospectively pokes fun at the character's death, taking place at his own funeral and having him sing "I could never R.I.P." Held aptly at the Eternal Life Funeral Home, the clip features dance numbers and the fictional pop superstar boasting about his celebrity lifestyle, addressing haters, and alluding to fake friends and enemies.
