Screen Rant is overjoyed to present an exclusive behind-the-scenes clip celebrating the home release of After Yang, which is available to own on Digital, Blu-ray, and DVD June 21 through Lionsgate. An adaptation of Alexander Weinstein's short story, Saying Goodbye to Yang, the sci-fi film is acclaimed director Kogonada's follow-up to his impressive Columbus debut.

After Yang takes place in an alternate future and follows married couple Jake (Colin Farrell, The Batman) and Kyra (Jodie Turner-Smith, Queen & Slim), who try to repair both their malfunctioning android Yang (Justin H. Min, The Umbrella Academy) and their relationship with daughter Mika (Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja, iCarly) after years of relative neglect. The stellar supporting cast is comprised of Haley Lu Richardson, Clifton Collins Jr., Sarita Choudhury, and Ritchie Coster.

In the exclusive behind-the-scenes clip provided by Lionsgate, the cast break down how they achieved the hilarious and heartwarming "global dance competition" scene that makes up the opening credits. Min ruefully declares that he's not a very good dancer, making the rehearsal process that much harder for him. Turner-Smith recalls the dance sequence being her first scene on the set of After Yang, and reveals that it helped her be fully in her body as a performer and allowed the fictional family unit to bond as well. Farrell adds his two cents, comparing it to a fun and organic version of a military draft. Min can also see how the virtual link is an extension of the world's online obsession today, which further emphasizes writer-director Kogonada's unique ability to shape relatable tropes to fit his personal aesthetic. Throughout the clip, the entire cast of characters is shown in the final dance clip, but the focus is on the four main actors bonding and preparing their big dance debut.

The Blu-ray and DVD versions of After Yang contain a special feature - which includes the above clip - titled “The End Is a Beginning:

After Yang.” The PG-rated sci-fi drama will contain Spanish as well as English SDH subtitles, with a runtime of 96 minutes. Check out the gorgeous cover art of the physical edition below, complete with praise for the film and cast:
