Voltage Pictures have released the trailer for their long-awaited fall release After We Collided, the sequel to the 2019 film After directed by Jenny Gage and written for the screen by Susan McMartin. The series is based on a series of books by American author Anna Todd.

Released on YouTube, the steamy two-minute sneak peek picks up from where the events of After left off it seems and continues the story of Tessa (Josephine Langford) and Hardin (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) and their tumultuous relationship. There is an abundance of excitement packed into this first look, from screaming matches between Tessa and Hardin to smashed glasses and destroyed furniture and also tantalizes steamy love scenes. It begins with a melancholy Hardin reminding viewers that he’s no longer with Tessa. While Tessa has tried to turn him away, though soon enough, Hardin has convinced her to try the relationship again.

Not long after they’ve reunited, though, Hardin seems to be unable to keep his promise. He’s shown being intimate with someone who else, but he appears not to be alone with his wandering eye. Tessa is working in a dream publishing job and finds herself growing closer to co-worker Trevor (Dylan Sprouse), who we later see gathering his clothes and leaving Tessa’s apartment. This installment is directed by Roger Kumble and written for the screen by Anna Todd.

Todd, who originally published the series a chapter a day on the online platform Wattpad with origins in One Direction fanfiction, has since written six books in the franchise. Gallery Books published the print editions of the book in 2014.  It has been compared to Fifty Shades of Grey and drawn criticism for its portrayal of problematic relationships. After We Collided will be available in theatres and on-demand October 2.
