The September 14 episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite featured a brief appearance from Luigi Primo, AKA "The Pizza Guy," and some contracted AEW wrestlers weren't happy about it. Over the last several months, there have been numerous reports about performers with the company being unhappy with their air time. So seeing a comedy wrestler like Primo on All Elite's premier show has rubbed some backstage the wrong way. It'd be unfair to characterize Primo as an overnight sensation, given that he's been wrestling for more than seven years. The pizza-slinging spot in question didn't originate on AEW television, however. Instead, it seemingly caught Tony Khan's eye while going viral to the point that Mark Zuckerberg commented on it. The clip in question was from a match during WrestleMania 38 weekend, making the timing somewhat strange. Still, it's given Primo new life on the independent scene.Related: Bloodline's Inevitable Turn On Sami Zayn Is Peak Storytelling For WWEThe original post of the spot by @W_W_Unicorns on Twitter has racked up more than 6 million views, giving it a WWE-level reach on the platform. This led to Primo appearing momentarily Dynamite, getting knocked out by Ethan Page before he could get too far into his bit. The blink-and-you-miss-it segment set up a bout between Page and Danhausen on Rampage, but not before upsetting Miro and Anthony Ogogo. Both went to Twitter to voice their displeasure, with Miro (from his @ToBeMiro handle) writing, "You should have left this on the indies." Ogogo's words were a bit more on-the-nose. From his @AnthonyOgogo page, the wrestler shot on the idea of AEW being a sports-based wrestling promotion.

In a way, it's wise for Miro and Ogogo to attach themselves to a clip that has generated much interest outside of usual wrestling circles. Primo's dough-slinging video is the kind of thing that non-wrestling fans likely sent their so-called wrestling friends, asking, "hey, did you see this?"

Miro and Ogogo also aren't wrong for wondering aloud why AEW has time for Primo on air but not them. The Redeemer hasn't wrestled a singles match on Dynamite since beating Page on June 15, while Ogogo hasn't worked a noteworthy singles match since wrestling Cody Rhodes at Double Or Nothing back in May of 2021. He's worked 18 AEW Dark matches and one Friday night match since then but hasn't been on television since June 4, 2021. It remains to be seen whether or not Primo will pop back up on AEW programming in the future, but Tony Khan has noted on Twitter that he loves pizza.
