MJF hasn't been back on AEW television for very long, but he's already making waves by doing things like burying one of WWE's top guys on Twitter. The exchange wasn't unprompted, but Friedman has never been one to take a perceived slight lightly. It seems that MJF felt that a recent five-star match participant was making fun at his expense, and he didn't take that lying down (to the surprise of no one who pays attention to All Elite Wrestling).

With CM Punk on the mend for at least the next six months, MJF is arguably the best promo in professional wrestling. WWE has a handful of performers who can give impassioned speeches—Kevin Owens and Drew McIntyre are two who come to mind—but few can deliver knockout punches as Friedman can. He's not shy about identifying a potential sore spot in his target's pride before zeroing in, and he typically hits his marks with the precision of an Olympian archer. Unfortunately for Sheamus, he ended up in MJF's sights on Twitter, and The Salt Of The Earth didn't waste much time before going for the jugular.

It was a bit of a strange sting of interactions on the social media platform. Baron Corbin, from his @BaronCorbinWWE handle, quote-tweeted Sheamus, who had picked on the recent PWI 500 rankings by starting his own "bangers" index and giving himself all the top spots. Corbin responded, stating, "I'm not a mark so I didn't read the issue," referring to the PWI 500 rankings. Sheamus (@WWESheamus) then poked the bear by telling Baron that "real heels wear scarfs." MFJ, from his @The_MJF handle, retweeted Sheamus' comment about scarves, simply writing that it was "sad." The Celtic Warrior then used that popular Connor McGregor GIF to ask who MJF was. Which is when Friedman decided to take his shot.

That escalated quickly. As he would with an AEW opponent, MJF zeroed in on Sheamus' past shortcomings and let his thoughts rip. WWE has been trying to make Sheamus work as a main-event level star for years now, and only recently did crowds really start to warm up to him again. His banger against Gunther at Clash At The Castle helped a ton, as did Dave Meltzer's five-star rating for that match.

Interestingly enough, MJF has openly talked about wanting to head to WWE in 2024 when his contract is up. During his first promo after returning at All Out, Friedman said that Triple H (calling him The Game) is his hero and that he might earn some respect by working for a real wrestling company. Adding fuel to the fire is the fact that the official AEW Twitter account retweeted MJF's brutal takedown, exposing it to about as many eyes as possible.
