The fallout from CM Punk's post-All Out media scrum has consumed media that covers AEW, with fans wondering just how far the physical confrontation between him, The Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega went. Both WWE and AEW have put on weekly television shows since that pay-per-view. Still, the brash comments a subsequent alleged physical altercation have dominated the podcast circuit and online media outlets. At this juncture, the only people who haven't weighed in on what reportedly happened are those who were directly involved. The reason for that likely comes down to two factors.

Firstly, All Elite Wrestling is reportedly investigating what happened after Punk left the media scrum on September 4. As such, it behooves everyone to remain silent until the company decides how long suspensions to Punk, The Young Bucks, and Omega should last. CM Punk is injured and will be on the shelf for at least six months, so the odds are good that he won't be publically reprimanded. Omega and The Young Bucks are currently suspended, but no timetable for their return has been indicated. Secondly, veterans such as Chris Jericho have implored AEW talent to stop leaking things that should be dealt with in-house. An alleged backstage scrum between four of the company's top stars almost certainly falls into that category.

Questions remain for AEW and its rabid audience, however. Punk, Matt, and Nick Jackson have been tagged as participants in the physical altercation backstage, but the same can't be said for Kenny Omega. It was reported that he attempted to save Punk's dog from getting hurt, which is firmly entrenched in meme territory by now, but other than that, fans have been wondering how involved The Best Bout Machine was. During the September 13 episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer weighed in on that: "[Kenny] Omega has kind of been looped into this because [he and the Young Bucks] are very tight. But there is no indication of anything—accusations or whatever of things that people have said the Young Bucks did—there's no indication Kenny Omega did any of that stuff. Even like, any of the stuff that is out there. It's a different situation."

Could Kenny Omega Return Before The Young Bucks?

Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks have been treated as essentially the same entity as news continues to break about what happened after All Out. It sounds as if the former might have had less to do with the physical elements of what allegedly occurred, though, which could open the door for him to return to AEW television before The Young Bucks.

He'd just finished rehabbing several injuries and surgeries, and his return was supposed to be the beginning of All Elite Wrestling picking up steam again. Tony Khan had patiently waited for him to be healthy before rolling out the trios titles and even passed on a match between FTR and The Young Bucks for the AEW tag team championships when that's what fans were clamoring for. Whatever the plans were for after All Out got flushed when Punk nuked the EVPs of AEW, called Hangman Adam Page empty-headed and wouldn't allow Khan to cut in during his tirade. The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega were stripped of the trios titles, and that's where things stand now.
