Amazon Prime Video releases a second The Aeronauts movie trailer, the biographical drama that reunites Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. Having previously worked together on The Theory of Everything, a film that won Redmayne an Oscar for Best Actor, the two actors are reteaming for an exploration of the skies.

Inspired by true events, The Aeronauts follows scientist James Glaisher (Redmayne) and wealthy widow Amelia Wren (Jones) as they board a hot air balloon in an attempt to fly higher than anyone else in history. The story, set in 1862, chronicles the duo’s risky endeavor and how their gamble might end up costing them their lives. The film also examines how such a heightened scenario ultimately helps Wren and Glaisher achieve a better understanding: of themselves, of each other, and their place in the world. Back in August, The Aeronauts' poster and trailer was unveiled. The extended look at The Aeronauts began with Amelia’s words and her possible motivations for embarking on such a dangerous journey. Now, as another preview has dropped, viewers get a glimpse of what the scientist's reasons might be.

In the new Aeronauts trailer, Glaisher claims that he wants to better comprehend the weather. Listing the benefits of this goal, Glaisher confidently asks for funding in order to begin his expedition of the sky. Given the era, and given the inherent difficulties of his request, the scientist is immediately rebuffed. Briefly deterred, Glaisher’s spirits are lifted once he learns of a woman that may want to take the perilous journey with him. Rather than turn him down, as others have, Amelia Wren appears quite ready to join Glaisher’s mission. Check out the full second trailer below.

The Aeronauts is directed by Tom Harper and written by Jack Thorne, from a story that Harper and Thorne collaborated on. Harper is known for directing episodes of Peaky Blinders, while Thorne is a scribe on His Dark Materials and penned Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Joining Redmayne and Jones in the cast are Phoebe Fox, Hamish Patel, Vincent Perez, and Annie Reid.

The Aeronauts had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival in August. It also screened at the Toronto Film Festival. Reviews of the film, from critics who have seen it, praise the visuals and the chemistry displayed by the two leads. Fans will be able to decide for themselves soon enough. In the United Kingdom, the film will release theatrically on November 4. In the US, The Aeronauts will have a limited theatrical run before being available to stream on December 20 via Amazon Prime.
