Adventure Time features many characters. However, the show is driven by its main set of personalities, spearheaded by protagonists Jake The Dog and Finn The Human. While some characters in Adventure Time are as dangerous as they are cute, others showcase different characteristics. Personalities like Finn are beloved by audiences thanks to their affable qualities.

Lumpy Space Princess

Although some fans find Lumpy Space Princess likable, others find that she overstayed her welcome in Adventure Time. She can be funny and serves to make some memorable plotlines throughout the series. However, LSP is less likable than her peers.

She isn't helpful and is almost always showcased complaining or making a sarcastic remark about another character. She tries to become involved in other people's business against their wills. Furthermore, she is self-serving and is rarely driven by the care for others.

Ice King

Ice King is an antagonist, and some fans say he is one of Adventure Time's best characters. He causes trouble for the main group through his schemes to capture princesses in the land of Ooo. He proves to be less malicious when it is revealed that his behavior comes from the magical crown which deteriorates his mind.

However, Ice King is most prominently shown as a selfish man. He is driven by a self-serving nature underscored by his constant quest to capture and marry princesses against their wills. He is lonely and envious of Jake and Finn's popularity and relationships. As a result, he lashes out against them and often harms others.

Flame Princess

Finn develops a relationship with Flame Princess and her arc surrounds their romance. She is generally kind to him, but her less likable qualities come out in her conflicts with her father the Flame King and others. Flame Princess is emotionally volatile and lashes out many times.

She is angry and often goes after others without thinking. Her destructive nature causes harm to the personalities around her, making her less likable than some of the other main characters in Adventure Time.

Princess Bubblegum

Princess Bubblegum is one of the smartest characters in Adventure Time. However, she proves to be less likable than some of the other main personalities. She has affable qualities, shown in her love for the Candy People, as well as her kindness toward Finn and Jake. However, she shows less likable behavior in her relationship with Marceline.

They show hostility toward one another on multiple occasions. Furthermore, PB's anger comes out when she faces enemies and proves to be malicious when she feels she is justified by an opponent's actions. She is affected by her power, and it can make her more arrogant than some of her peers.

Marceline The Vampire Queen

Marceline is Jake and Finn's friend. She is fun, funny, and Finn and Jake enjoy spending time with her. She is a songwriter and shows off her talents in her several musical numbers. She has a laid-back and cool aura that some of the other main characters find appealing.

Marceline is not without her bad traits and sometimes displays anger, lashing out at others. Sometimes she has outbursts in the midst of a terrifying shapeshift. When she is starved, she becomes unfeeling, cold, and bloodthirsty. However, in her day-to-day functionality, she presents an affable personality.

Jake The Dog

Jake is one of the main protagonists in Adventure Time. He is funny, goofy, and generally walks around with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. He is not without depth and shows selfish behavior at times when he puts his own desires over the needs of Finn or his children.

However, Jake is helpful and saves Finn from the clutches of disaster many times over the course of Adventure Time's hundreds of episodes. He has been shown lashing out at others under duress, but Jake is most frequently presented as a laid-back and pragmatic individual.

Finn The Human

Finn is the main character in Adventure Time and presents several likable qualities. He has a dark side, and sometimes viewers see Jake's emotions cloud his judgment, like when he pits Ice King and Flame Princess against each other and goes after his deadbeat dad. However, he is driven by the quest for good.

Finn is always trying to do the right thing and save those who need help. He rarely functions selfishly and seems to genuinely enjoy acting as a hero and protector of others. He struggles with conflict at times but acts as the show's moral compass almost always. His funniness and charm highlight his strive for honorable behavior.

BMO

BMO is Jake and Finn's friend, as well as a functional machine for video games, movies, and other practical uses. They live with Finn and Jake and sometimes star in their own episodes. It is hard to argue that BMO is an unlikable character. Their childlike innocence is endearing, and fans rarely see BMO acting maliciously.

BMO is loyal to Jake and Finn and goes out of their way to make sure his friends are safe whenever possible. They are kind, funny, and adventurous. BMO takes delight in some of the simplest things they come into contact with, and their childlike wonder is even more astonishing considering the beguiling Adventure Time universe.
