With HBO Max adding the show to its new shuffle feature (per Variety), Adventure Time fans can revisit the show's countless quests, battles against evil, and colorful characters who live in the Land of Ooo at random. Led by brothers Jake the Dog and Finn the Human, the timeless cartoon touched the hearts of children and adults alike as well as winning eight Primetime Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.

Over nearly 300 episodes and 10 seasons, Finn and Jake's own brotherly language and idiosyncrasies are embedded into the show. Though words like "bizonkers," "slammacow," and "jambeys" stick out as other-worldly to the first-time viewer, this invented and ever-changing slang quickly becomes second nature and only expands the show's extensive lore and characters.

Mathematical

Finn exclaims "Mathematical" in Adventure Time

This will also include "Algebraic," "Alphanumeric," and any other math-related word.  Finn and Jake use this as a replacement for "cool" or another enthusiastic celebration.

The origin, like many of their slang words, is unknown but fans can be sure to hear Finn shout it as he slays a monster and saves a Princess. It seems, in the Land of Ooo, that math is in fact cool.

Bad Biscuits

The Lich and the Mushroom Bomb in Adventure Time

It is quite often that Finn and Jake are spying on Ice King to see if he is up to "bad biscuits." Trouble is found in every corner of Ooo and Finn and Jake always have to put a stop to it.

Whether it be Ice King capturing another Princess, someone stealing Tree Trunk's apples, or The Lich - one of the best characters introduced after season 1 of Adventure Time - trying to end life itself, "bad biscuits" are always afoot. As Jake eloquently says, "Bad biscuits make the baker broke bro!"

Dosh

A pile of treasure in Adventure Time

It seems being an adventurer pays fairly well. Finn and Jake have filled a whole room in their incredible treehouse devoted solely to looted treasure, or "dosh" as they call it.

In the episode "Furniture & Meat," one slight nudge breaks a wall, and after riding a wave of gold, BMO, one of the most likable Adventure Time characters, says, "All of this dosh is threatening the structural integrity of the treehouse."

Glob

Finn rides Jake in Adventure Time

Cartoons and traditionally children-centric TV have always found ways to work around words they cannot use, but Adventure Time has an interesting workaround to still use "OMG." The use of "Glob," "Grob," "Gob," and "Grod" allowed the characters to have meaningful exclamations of surprise or terror.

What first started as a simple replacement quickly worked its way into Adventure Time's extensive lore, in which Grob Gob Glob Grod became a four-faced omnipotent power from Mars. Though it might sound like gibberish at first, Finn and Jake really can thank Glob all they want.

Melon Heart

Lump Space Princess, Slime, Wildberry, and Hot Dog Princess with Finn and Jake on Adventure Time

Everyone has a heart; everyone has a brain. In Adventure Time it goes a bit deeper. Whether Finn has his arm ripped off or gets dumped by a Princess, Jake tells him "If you listen deep in your melon heart, that's where the real instructions are."

The combination of the heart and the melon, used much like noggin or the fruit of the mind, is a funny but poignant pairing.

Finn and Jake Fist Bump on Adventure Time

Much of Adventure Time takes place inside of the Candy Kingdom. In later seasons Finn acts as the Champion of the Candy Kingdom, sworn to protect the princess and citizens from threats. Sometimes, though, those threats slip through forcing Finn and Jake to fight.

Used as a replacement for "punch" or "fist sandwich," the term "fist cookie" fits right in the kingdom of sweets and sugar. If Jake stretches his hands big like he so often does, a fist cookie will do just the trick on perpetrators.

Slaps

The main characters of Adventure Time pose

Though "slaps" has entered the pop culture as a term used to mean "amazing" - usually in response to a song - Adventure Time used the term in a different way.

Finn uses "slaps" to replace yikes or darn almost like a tired sigh. After barely making it through a tough battle with a magical beast, Finn exclaims, "Slaps, that cat was kicking my buns!"

Lump(s)

While Lumpy Space Princess isn't the most intelligent Adventure Time character, she is responsible for a major slang term throughout the Land of Ooo. Used in many different ways, "lump(s)" is heard a lot throughout the series.

Sometimes said as an expletive or a noun, it is possible to hear LSP say the grammatical sentence "What the lump does this lump want with my lumps!?" Over time spent with her, Finn and Jake began to use the word as well.

Yoga Balls

A maze in Adventure Time

Finn and Jake aren't ones to swear... with real swear words. Whether it's the addition of a less harmless word or a substitution altogether, Adventure Time has countless examples of using words to act like profanity.

A favorite one of fans is "yoga balls" when Finn sees a massive maze he and Jake must trek through he says "this place is yoga balls huge!" Also relating to an actual yoga ball's size it is used to describe how big or dangerous something might be.

Plock Dumps And Waggle Sags

Finn and Jake hug in Adventure Time

Finn, Jake, and other friends within the Land of Ooo have a tendency to say a lot of words very quickly to mean one thing. Though it might sound like the character is talking a whole sentence of gibberish, phrases like "plock dumps and waggle sags" or "JJ flip what the zip" are merely being used to express one word.

In this case, "plock dumps and waggle sags" means something is uncool as a younger Princess Bubblegum uses it to describe her stressful life as an 18-year-old. Adventure Time welcomes fans to a world with wildly different words and hopes they'll follow along.
