Animated shows aren’t just for kids and the list we’ve compiled below proves that! There are plenty of cartoons that kids should never lay eyes on because they are filled with inappropriate jokes, controversial subject matter, and dialogue that could be described as totally unsuitable. Some of these adult humor cartoons are easy to binge-watch over the course of a few days while others require much more in-depth thought.

Animated shows like these often push the boundaries, but that isn’t always a bad thing. For anyone looking for a new adult humor cartoon to watch, these ten options are a good idea to check out.

BoJack Horseman

Obviously we had to have BoJack Horseman starting off our list because it is one of the best original Netflix series of all time. BoJack Horseman is an animated show that focuses on a horse who was once famous in the 90s. He was part of a family-oriented TV show and earned millions of dollars because of it. Fast forward into the present day and he feels like he is a washed-up has-been who no longer knows what direction to go in his life. His addictions and inability to emotionally connect with other people catch up to him tenfold.

Bob's Burgers

Bob’s Burgers is an animated show about a family that runs a burger restaurant. The dad of the family has always had a dream of owning his own restaurant and in his adulthood, his dream has come to fruition. He runs the restaurant with his wife and his three kids. His kids are all mischievous in their own ways because they all have their own interests, but the most devious child of his would have to be his youngest daughter, Louise. Across the street from his restaurant is a rival pizza shop that he has to deal with as well.

F Is For Family

F is for Family is about a dysfunctional family that tries to get by in the 70s. It first premiered on Netflix in 2015 and so far, it has four seasons. The animated comedy is inspired by the life of Bill Burr a stand-up comic who co-created and executively produced the series. He is also the voice actor of the father in the show, Frank Murphy. The newest season of this show was just recently released!

Family Guy

Family Guy is one of the more well-known adult humor animated comedies with we are mentioning on this list. It is about a family that lives in a suburban neighborhood. The family does not get along very well with each other and their disdain for each other can oftentimes be very obvious.

The youngest member of the family is named Stewie and he has a desire to take over the world, even if it means that he must use evil and destructive tools to get there. This show is always inappropriate and rarely ever politically correct!

The Simpsons

The Simpsons is the longest-running animated show… Ever. That is a pretty big deal if you ask us. It has been running for 31 seasons starting back in 1989. As of now, it has over 684 episodes! The writers of The Simpsons don’t seem to be slowing down or stopping anytime soon. The show has won several awards including the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program, Kids' Choice Award for Favorite TV Show, and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series.

Archer

The main Archer cast lined up

Archer is another interesting adult humor cartoon to watch right now. It is about an intelligence agency that never seems to follow the rules. The voice actor from Archer is the same voice actor from Bob’s Burgers. His name is H. John Benjamin. The first episode of this show premiered back in 2009 on the FX network. The humor in this show is rarely ever appropriate! That being said, this is not the type of show to watch with kids around.

Futurama

Futurama is on our list because it is about a young guy who time travels and finds out his entire world gets turned upside down. In modern-day life, he works as a pizza delivery boy with no excitement about his future and no plans towards a real career. When he accidentally travels to the future, he is introduced to a new set of friends and an entirely new lifestyle. He sort of uses the opportunity as a fresh start.
