Adrianne Palicki Wants Mockingbird/Black Widow Crossover

If she ever returns to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Adrianne Palicki wants Mockingbird to team up with Black Widow. Bobbi Morse was the big new addition to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back during the show's second season, with Palicki's take on the character quickly going on to become a fan-favorite. Interest in her was so high, ABC eventually greenlit a spinoff series starring her and Nick Blood's Lance Hunter. Most Wanted has yet to see the light of day, despite a pilot being shot, and has since left the future of Palicki's Mockingbird up in the air.

S.H.I.E.L.D. made what appeared to be a pretty definitive split from Morse and Hunter when they were disavowed from the organization in season 3, though Hunter is now returning for season 5. His return has only raised further questions of Mockingbird's whereabouts and when/if she'll be back in the future. Palicki has said she'd be more than happy to return - and if she does, she wants a big team up.

Palicki took part in an AMA on Reddit to promote her current show, The Orville, but Marvel fans could not let the opportunity go by without asking some Mockingbird0related questions. Palicki says she's just waiting for the call to suit up again, and wants to team up with Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow if she gets the chance.

The potential for a Mockingbird/Black Widow team up is certainly a prospect that will get many excited, but it is probably very unlikely. For starters, Mockingbird has been MIA in the MCU for a few years now and there's yet to be any real indication that her return is more likely to happen than not. Even if Palicki ever does get the chance to play the role again, it would probably be on the TV side still, and it is hard to imagine Scarlett Johansson guest starring on S.H.I.E.L.D., or any of the other Marvel TV shows for that matter.

Since this is a pipe dream at the moment, fans shouldn't get too excited about seeing Black Widow and Mockingbird fighting side by side. Before they even think about a crossover of this magnitude, they will first need to bring Morse back into the fold to begin with. That doesn't appear to be in the cards for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 5, and it would be surprising to see her pop up on any of the Netflix shows. Palicki still is holding out hope that ABC will one day release the Most Wanted pilot so fans can see what could've been, and that may be the only chance of seeing Mockingbird again.
