Here's what Zac Efron could look like as Adam Warlock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the MCU continues to move more cosmic, one character that fans have been hoping to see introduced is Adam Warlock. It was previously believed that his cocoon was featured in Guardians of the Galaxy, but that was not the case. Instead, director James Gunn included a blatant set up for Adam during one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's five post-credits scenes. Since that direct tease, fans have wondered just when Adam Warlock could make his debut.
Even though many hoped it could come in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers: Endgame thanks to Warlock's roles in similar comic storylines, he was not included in the epic two-part culmination of the MCU. This has left Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as a likely landing spot for the ultra-powerful character, and Gunn has even teased before that he was researching Adam Warlock so he could possibly do just that. The possibility of Adam Warlock joining the MCU has left fans wondering who could potentially play the part, and one of the fan-favorite choices is Efron.
Artist BossLogic has taken this piece of fan casting and worked his magic to show everyone what Efron could potentially look like as Adam Warlock. This is obviously just his interpretation of what Marvel Studios could do with Efron, but it gives him the all-gold look for his skin and hair, while his suit gets the MCU treatment and even looks similar to Doctor Strange's outfit.
While there have not yet been any credible rumors that Efron is in the running to play Adam Warlock, he certainly looks the part in this fan-made image. Efron may have really gained recognition for his role in High School Musical, but he has largely broken away from the Disney Channel status. He's ventured more into R-rated comedies like Neighbors and Baywatch, while his most recent role was a dramatic turn as serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile on Netflix. Efron has yet to do a superhero project, and his looks make him a great selection for Adam Warlock, who is supposed to be an ideal version of man.
If Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is ultimately where the MCU's Adam Warlock debuts, it could still be a while before someone - Efron or not - is cast in the role. It was recently reported that production is eyeing a 2020 start, but that likely wouldn't be until the latter half of the year at best given Gunn's commitments to The Suicide Squad. Whenever casting does begin on the film, Efron could be a solid pick - and certainly could pull off this look.
