Adam Sandler joined SNL in 1991, giving the hit sketch-comedy show the rejuvenation it needed. Sandler was only a cast member on SNL for four years having been fired in 1995, but he left his mark on the show.

Kiddie Metal

Back in the early 1990's metal bands such as Skid Row and Guns 'N' Roses were everywhere in pop culture. SNL, as a pillar of pop culture, had to find a way to incorporate these bands into their sketches and they knew just the man to play the parody rock icon of Axl Rose.

Adam Sandler embodies the Guns 'N' Roses front man as he sings children's songs such as Old MacDonald in the most metal way for the Kiddie Metal sketch.

Lunch Lady Land

Chris Farley and Adam Sandler starred in numerous sketches together during their time on SNL, each sketch more outrageous than the next. But one sketch the duo starred in is still a fan favorite to this day, over 25 years later.

The trifecta of comedy genius back in the '90's was David Spade, Adam Sandler, and Chris Farley. These three ruled the comedy scene as they became top cast members on SNL. Throughout 1993 to 1995, in the recurring sketch Gap Girls, the three impersonate female retail associates.

Their impersonations of stereotypical clicky retail workers was spot on as they excluded other mall employees such as The Donut Hut girls and talked about customers behind their backs.

Opera Man

Opera Man was a regular on the SNL scene as he often appeared on Weekend Updates throughout Sandler's time on the comedy sketch series. Fans loved the dramatic, brutally honest, and hilarious Opera Man character.

In fact fans loved the character so much that Opera Man returned when Sandler hosted SNL in 2019. It had been 24 years since viewers had seen the character, but the adoration and belly laughs were still there. Sandler kept the same Opera Man charm and humor while still belting out the truth about the world's trouble in 2019.

Pepper Boy

Starring alongside Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler portrayed Carlo, an aspiring pepper boy. With the help of Marco, played by Dana Carvey, Carlo learns the talent and skills it takes to become a top performing pepper boy.

But the job is harder than it looks as it's more than merely asking customers if they would like fresh pepper. A pepper boy needs to have an added flare. While Carlo struggles with his new job, Marco doesn't give up on him. If Sandler ever decides to quit acting, he has the skill set to become a pepper boy.

Canteen Boy

Before The Waterboy there was Canteen Boy. Sandler portrayed his character Canteen Boy on numerous occasions throughout 1993 and 1994. Canteen Boy was an assistant Boy Scout leader who was often the main target of bullies even though there taunts were typically lost on him.

While Canteen Boy seemed to be the epitome of innocence he was involved in a notorious skit with Alec Baldwin. The sketch became quite controversial but fans still love the naive, simple minded Canteen Boy.

The Herlihy Boy

Teaming up with Chris Farley, Adam Sandler became the Herlihy Boy, a neighborhood boy who was desperate for his neighbors to hire him for odd jobs. With the help of a passionate Mr. O'Malley, played by Chris Farley, the Herlihy Boy made a few awkward appearances on SNL.

During the course of the Herlihy Boy's time on SNL, he pleaded alongside Mr. O'Malley for his neighbors to hire him for house-sitting, dog-sitting, and grandma-sitting. Hopefully he made enough money from his side jobs to pay for a better haircut.

Zagat's with Hank & Beverly Gelfand

Farley and Sandler became the happy couple Beverly and Hank Gelfand in 1995 for the sketch Zagat's. Beverly and Hank are excited to pick a restaurant to dine in out of their Zagat's Restaurant Guide.

It appears Beverly is a bit more interested in the guide as she happily reads off the descriptions, meanwhile Hank is a little less than thrilled. In one sketch Hank pulls out a gun and in another one he takes sleeping pills to escape his wife and the Zagat's Restaurant Guide.

Sandler Family Reunion

In 2019 Sandler made an SNL comeback as the host of season 44, episode 19. It had been 24 years since Sandler had stepped on the Saturday Night Live stage that he once called his home. Throughout Sandler's career he has portrayed many silly characters with his goofy accents.

For Sandler's hosted episode the entire cast of SNL got together to create a Sandler family reunion. The skit starts with a waiter asking Sandler where he gets his inspiration for his characters. Sandler gives a lame response to how they just come to him, but then he enters the reunion. Each Sandler family member was a impersonation of a beloved Sandler character.

Thanksgiving Song

It's not Thanksgiving without the Thanksgiving song. Adam Sandler gave fans many beloved holiday songs throughout the years including the Hanukkah song, the Mother's Day song, and the Red Hooded Sweatshirt song.

But known of these songs became a treasured tradition like the Thanksgiving song. Adam Sandler first charmed fans with the Thanksgiving song in 1992 and almost 30 years later it is still just as popular. The song warmed the hearts of fans as Kevin joined in for the chorus that will stick in your head all Thanksgiving Day long.
