Adam Sandler is making a Netflix bat mitzvah movie with his family. The new Netflix teen comedy is based on You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah!a coming-of-age novel written by Fiona Rosenbloom. The story follows Stacey Friedman, a young girl whose bat mitzvah plans comedically unravel after she catches her best friend Lydia kissing the boy she likes. The film is being directed by Sammi Cohen (Crush) using a script written by Alison Peck (Work It). Sandler will be starring in and producing the new Netflix comedy movie.

Variety reports that Sandler's entire family, including teenage daughters Sunny and Sadie and wife Jackie, will be co-starring with him in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah! The Sandler family will be joined by a cast that includes Idina Menzel (Uncut Gems), Sarah Sherman (Saturday Night Live!), Luis Guzmán (Narcos), Ido Mosseri (Sandy Wexler), Samantha Lorraine (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Dylan Hoffman (Next), Dean Scott Vazquez (Theater Camp), Miya Cech (Always Be My Maybe), Dylan Dash (Adeline, The Great), Millie Thorpe (Ultra Violet & Black Scorpion), and newcomers Ivory Baker and Zaara Kuttemperoor. Netflix has not yet announced who anyone will be playing in the new movie, which has already started production.

You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah! is a part of Netflix's multi-film deal with Sandler and Happy Madison Productions. This deal most recently produced the sports-drama Hustle starring Sandler and Queen Latifah, which was generally well-received by critics. Undoubtedly, Netflix is hoping Sandler can achieve the same success with this funny family affair.
