After just one season of the show Batwoman, Ruby Rose has left the cape and cowl behind and left the show for unknown reasons. With news this big, there is obviously speculation as to why she left with many citing that it could've been due to a back injury she suffered in 2019 or the consistent backlash she has gotten since she started with the role.

Either way, it seems like it was a decision she didn't take lightly and now the CW is being forced to find her replacement to headline the show. With big plans coming from Batwoman in the near future such as the introduction of Bruce Wayne and the cliffhanger in season 1, we hope they can find a good actress to fill in Rose's boots. Here are 10 actresses perfect for the role.

Cara Delevingne

Cara Delevingne in Carnival Row Season 1 Amazon Prime

The 27-year-old English actress has been in the DC universe for a few years following her portrayal of Enchantress in Suicide Squad. But that's not the only reason we think she'd be a great Batwoman. Her wide array of movies and shows give her versatility and enough talent to play the serious and intimidating Batwoman and maintaining a cool, calm, and collected Kate Kane.

The actress also bears a resemblance to Ruby Rose, which would be great and actually comical to pass her off as a "Kate Kane from another universe". She already plays a badass fairy who takes no crap from anyone, so transitioning to Batwoman should be no problem.

Stephanie Beatriz

Brooklyn Nine-Nine Rosa Diaz and Arlo the Puppy

For over seven years, we've seen Stephanie Beatriz as the tough, cool, and leather jacket-wearing Detective Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-NineShe's got the acting chops, she's got the tough girl look, and her intimidating presence on camera makes her a perfect candidate to take over the role.

Beatriz herself has campaigned to take on the cowl and cape, expressing her interest and even claiming she looks great in red hair. Add in the fact she looks great in a black leather jacket and motorcycle, she would fit right in.

Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is arguably one of the most experienced actresses on this list with a wide range of roles. From the cheesy vampire movies to being an international spy, Stewart has what it take to play someone with multiple identities. Like all the women on this list, Stewart is a proud member of the LGBTQ community and has the experience and passion to play a character that has represented the community for decades.

She has been in plenty of action movies so she would definitely be used to all the fighting scenes and action-packed stories and she has been pin plenty of fantasy/sci-fi films so she would make a great addition for crossovers.

Kate Mckinnon

Kate McKinnon

Kate Mckinnon isn't known for her roles in action movies or her wide range, but she is worth the chance. Like Ruby Rose who had never starred in a role, Mckinnon is an up and coming actress with plenty to offer to the role of Batwoman.

She could have her own twist to the role or she could take the role as a challenge to test her acting chops and take on one of her first serious roles.

Evan Rachel Wood

Known best for her roles as Dolores Abernathy in Westworld and Sophie in True Blood, Evan Rachel Wood is no stranger to being part of a hit show.  She's got an intellectual and mysterious nature to her that perfectly matches the energy needed to play a hero that's larger than life.

Rachel Wood is no stranger to speaking her truths, often facing backlash for her stances but still managing to stay strong and committed to her issues. Much like Kate Kane in the show, she could bring that stubbornness and unwavering confidence to make an intriguing character.

Aubrey Plaza

If there is anyone who could intimidate you with just one look, it's Aubrey Plaza. Making her claim to fame as April Ludgate in Parks & Rec, she has gone on to star in various movies and show roles.  Something that makes Batwoman a great hero and worthy of having her own show is her ability to be as ruthless and unforgiving as Batman but have the level-headedness and confidence of someone who knows they're in charge.

Plaza has the ability to nail both parts of the role and as a well-known actress with a respectable fanbase, it could even bring more viewers to watch.

Samira Wiley

Poussey in Orange is the New Black

As one of Ruby Rose's costars in Orange Is The New Black, fans may be with Samira Wiley and her character in the show. As Poussey Washington she was very outspoken and caring, she was smart and very level headed. All these qualities are great for Batwoman and although she is significantly smaller than Rose or many of the actresses on this list, her presence makes up for it.

The CW has never shied away from casting diverse actors to play characters that have been white in comics, doing this for Wally West in The Flash and Barry's wife Iris.

Dominique Provost-Chalkley

Wynonna and Waverly Earp

Starring in the action-packed Wynonna Earp as Waverly, Dominque plays a smart and optimistic girl who often acts as the voice of reason to our protagonist.

Although she's not the most intimidating or even the best hunter on the show, she has determination and solid values that could translate well into the show.

Jameela Jamil

Jameela Jamil in The Good Place

As one of the stars of The Good Place, Jameel plays a good but misunderstood character with jealous tendencies and a good heart. Her towering height and acting tough when she needs to demeanor would make for a great replacement for Rose.

Like Kate in the show, she has a complicated relationship with her sister and she has a hard time expressing her emotions. Although she hasn't been in any action roles, her personality alone could make a great Kate Kane.

Bella Thorne

She may be the youngest on the list, being over 10 years younger than Ruby Rose but her signature red hair and her wide range make her an excellent candidate for the next Batwoman.

She can play tough and she can play innocent, she has all the chops it takes to play someone with multiple identities.
