With movies such as the laughably bad Morbius and the disappointingly forgettable The 355 leaving a bad taste in audiences' mouths, 2022 has had some truly terrible movies. While some like Turning Red and have given moviegoers a lot to enjoy for the year, it does come down to the question of what will award season bring when all is said and done.

The Academy Awards may be the gold standard for the film industry, though not without their own controversies, there are also always the Razzies around the corner to keep everyone humble. In a good-natured parody of the Oscars, Golden Raspberry Awards are given to those that their panel dubs as the worst in film. While winning an Oscar or a Razzie is quite an accomplishment, what is truly impressive is when an actor manages to win both, often in close proximity to each other.

Eddie Redmayne

Fantastic Beasts Eddie Redmayne

Now the star of the monumental Harry Potter prequel series Fantastic Beasts, Eddie Redmayne first rose to prominence with several hits in the 2010s. Redmayne won the Best Actor Oscar in 2015 for his portrayal of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything and was nominated again the next year for The Danish Girl.

Unfortunately, 2016 was also the year that Jupiter Ascending came out, with Eddie Redmayne starring as the villain. The film was received very negatively by both critics and fans. It earned Redmayne a Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor for his over the top performance.

Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut

Nicole Kidman has had a storied career, one that has garnered her quite a lot of praise and is still going strong today. She has been nominated for Academy Awards five times, most recently in 2022, and won Best Actress for The Hours in 2003.

Unfortunately not every role has been quite so acclaimed, and Kidman also received a Razzie for 2005's adaptation of the TV show Bewitched. She and Will Ferrel won the Golden Raspberry for Worst Screen Combo in the film, unfortunately proving that not every role can be magic.

Laurence Olivier

An acting legend of both stage and screen, Laurence Olivier is one of the most esteemed actors of all time. His long and decorated career saw him take home two Academy Awards for his film adaptation of Hamlet in 1948.

Sadly even the greatest of actors aren't immune to the occasional dud, and Olivier actually managed to nab two Razzies over the course of his career. The first for Worst Supporting Actor in 1981's The Jazz Singer, and the second for Inchon two years later. If anything, it should serve as a lesson that even the best of artists aren't always perfect.

Faye Dunaway

Faye Dunaway cemented her place in Hollywood history with starring roles in legendary films like Bonnie and Clyde and Chinatown. She finally won her overdue Best Actress Oscar in 1977 for the satirical drama Network.

Despite these acclaimed roles, Dunaway did manage to land a Worst Actress Razzie Award for her performance as Joan Crawford in the infamous Mommie Dearest, as well as a Worst Supporting Actress for 1993's The Temp. Still, as far as acting careers go, it's hard to knock one like Faye Dunaway's.

Marlon Brando

Speaking of acclaimed actors, anyone would be hard pressed to find many on the same level as Marlon Brando. Despite a reputation for being difficult to work with, Brando turned in iconic performances in several of the best films of all time, winning Oscars for both On the Waterfront and The Godfather.

Believe it or not, Marlon Brando also has a Razzie for Worst Actor to his name too, for 1996's The Island of Dr. Moreau. To be fair, Brando was going through a very difficult time, and the movie faced many issues, several of which had nothing to do with him. Marlon Brando may be one of the greatest actors ever, but even he couldn't escape the dreaded Razzie.

Kim Basinger

From Batman to 8 Mile, Kim Basinger has had a very eclectic career, so it is somewhat understandable that she would have been attached to some Hollywood's best and worst offerings. Basinger won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her femme fatale role in 1997's criminally under appreciated L.A. Confidential.

Basinger was in several movies afterwards which ranged from positive to negative reviews, but in 2018 she was given the Worst Supporting Actress Razzie for her role in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker. In her defense, there were few aspects of that movie that didn't win a Razzie.

Al Pacino

Marlon Brando is not the only Godfather actor to have received awards on both ends of the Hollywood success spectrum. His on-screen son Al Pacino also has both an Oscar and a Razzie to his name. While Pacino has nine acting nominations, his only win so far is Best Supporting Actor for Scent of a Woman.

Al Pacino is easily another one of the most acclaimed actors in history, but that did not protect him from a Worst Supporting Actor Razzie for his part in Adam Sandler's abysmal Jack and Jill. Even though he is a cinematic legend, Pacino is one actor who has made both the best and worst movies ever.

Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock was one of the most iconic actresses of the 90's, and has showed no signs of slowing down since. She also has the unique honor of having won an Academy Award and a Razzie in the same year. Bullock took home the Best Actress award in 2010 for her performance in The Blind Side.

Unfortunately, she also has starred in the rom-com All About Steve the same year, which won her both a Worst Actress and Worst On-Screen Couple Golden Raspberry. Bullock was a good sport about the award, and even attended the ceremony to accept her Razzies in person. She even handed out copies of All About Steve, inviting other attendees to try their best with it.

Jared Leto

Jared Leto - American Psycho

Jared Leto has become a very polarizing actor in recent years with movies like Suicide Squad and Morbius, which makes it easy to forget that his early acting career was full of prestigious roles. Starring in films like Requiem For a Dream and American Psycho, Leto eventually won a Best Supporting Actor award for 2014's Dallas Buyer's Club.

Leto definitely proved his talent in the film, but has taken several much more eclectic roles since which have received mixed reviews. Leto was controversially given a worst supporting actor Razzie for the recent House of Gucci despite also receiving several positive awards for the role. Whether or not he deserved the award, he now proudly has both to show off.

Halle Berry

Halle Berry at the 2002 Oscars

One of the most famous instances of an actor winning both an Oscar and a Razzie, Halle Berry also had one of the best attitudes about it as well. Halle Berry won her Oscar for Monster's Ball in 2002, becoming the first Black woman to win the Best Actress award. Three years later, she won her Razzie for the much maligned Catwoman.

Like Sandra Bullock, Berry actually showed up to the ceremony and accepted her award in person. Berry held her Oscar in her other hand as she accepted the Golden Raspberry, thanking the makers of Catwoman for casting her in such an awful movie. Since Halle Berry is still an acclaimed actress and now director, it's no surprise she was willing to take this one in stride.
