An Animal Crossing New Horizons player substituted a Crumploid for SpongeBob SquarePants to recreate the popular TV show's iconic "I Don't Need It" scene. A customizable gyroid, the Crumploid entered the mix for ACNH's 2.0 Update, which went live late last year in November. One look at the item's yellow variation makes it perfectly clear why Animal Crossing players liken this particular gyroid to a very dehydrated SpongeBob SquarePants.

Since the game's launch nearly two years ago, Animal Crossing New Horizons' more creative users have recreated many a popular meme with the baked-in creation tools. Last fall, for instance, a Redditor reproduced Silent Hill's "it's bread" meme in New Horizons. Not too long thereafter, another fan brought a classic Fairly OddParents scene to life in the popular Nintendo Game. And just recently, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's Roach on a roof meme reentered the spotlight thanks to an ACNH player's clever recreation of the famous glitch. Now a fan-favorite SpongeBob SquarePants scene has received similar treatment.

Redditor Biochao obviously had the same idea as countless other Animal Crossing New Horizons users - the yellow Crumploid resembles dehydrated SpongeBob. As such, Biochao took it upon themselves to recreate SpongeBob SquarePants' famous "Tea at the Treedome" scene, wherein SpongeBob tries to resist the urge to drink water while visiting Sandy's home. The character inwardly repeats the phrase "I don't need it" several times before finally giving in and consuming water from a flower vase. In recreating the scene in ACHN, Biochao placed a Crumploid in front of a glass of juice and played SpongeBob's voice lines in the background. Check it out in the video below:

As is often the case with memes recreated in Animal Crossing New Horizons, the above SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired scene oozes charm. Not every nuance of the scene is possible, of course, but the details that make it through to the end add their own flair to the well-known meme.

Nintendo launched the latest Animal Crossing entry in March 2020 to rave reviews and an overwhelmingly positive response from longtime fans and newcomers alike. The title continues to enjoy commercial success, too, with approximately 36 million copies sold worldwide as of May 2021. Since Nintendo recently announced plans to halt support of the title in terms of new content releases, fans hold out hope that a sequel is in the works.
