Bunny Day is approaching in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and an addition from the Animal Crossing 2.0 update can make egg collecting a lot easier. A unique mechanic of Animal Crossing games is that days pass in real time, and progress through the seasons just as they happen in real life. The Animal Crossing franchise has always featured holidays in some form, although they vary from game to game. Each month typically has at least one holiday, such as Toy Day or Festivale, or town events such as Bug or Fishing tourneys.

The Animal Crossing 2.0 update launched in November of 2021, and added a slew of new features to the game. Much of the content contained in the update were gameplay elements from previous Animal Crossing games, like Brewster's Café and the ability to enact town ordinances. There are multiple ordinances players can choose from, but only one can be enacted at a time. The Early Bird and Night Owl ordinances effect shop closing and opening times as well as the hours island inhabitants are active, shifting either a few hours earlier or later. The Bell Boom ordinance raises the price of in-store items by 20%, but items also sell for 20% more. The Beautiful Town ordinance reduces the spread of weeds, eliminates cockroaches, increases flower spawns, and gets rid of all trash from bodies of water that could typically be caught while fishing.

Bunny Day first became a holiday in Animal Crossing: City Folkand has stayed mostly the same since. The first Bunny Day in New Horizons was a bit of a fiasco - the event ran for two weeks, and fans became increasingly annoyed that all of the town's resources had been almost entirely replaced with eggs. In New Horizons, there are 6 different types of eggs players can find around town: water, stone, wood, air, leaf, and earth. Players can find these by fishing, collecting stone, chopping wood, shooting down balloons, shaking trees, and digging. Bunny Day was thankfully updated after the first year, changing the length of the holiday to 8 days and lowering the spawn rate of eggs. In 2022, Bunny Day runs from April 10th to April 17th.

Use ACNH's Beautiful Town Ordinance During Bunny Day 2022

Bunny Day in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Enacting the Beautiful Town ordinance in New Horizons can help make Bunny Day much easier, at least for one type of egg. Since the Beautiful Town ordinance means trash cannot be caught while fishing, the odds of players catching water eggs is greatly increased. Players will then only catch items of value while egg hunting, acquiring fish they can sell alongside water eggs. The items and recipes players earn from ACNH's Bunny Day exceed any other holiday furniture set in the game, with 40 recipes total, 22 of which are clothing. Acquiring clothing sets is based around catching a certain number of each type of egg, meaning that faster collection of water eggs can speed up overall DIY collection.

Although Animal Crossing: New Horizon's Bunny Day collection isn't one of the most stylish furniture sets in Animal Crossing, its potential for springtime décor shouldn't be overlooked. The clothing sets are undeniably silly, with the hat, top, and shoes making the player resemble an egg. However, it's a perfect way for players to have some festive fun on their island. The Beautiful Town ordinance is a great trick for catching more eggs around town, and can make Bunny Day easier for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players.
