Ubisoft will extend the period of availability for Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Yule Festival event due to widespread issues. AC Valhalla hosted a Yule Festival in 2020, complete with seasonal content spread out across Eivor's Ravensthorpe settlement. A similar in-game event went live during this past spring, with summer and fall receiving seasonal celebrations of their own.

For the 2021 holiday season, Ubisoft brought Yuletide back to the world of Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It kicked off on December 16 for all players, introducing new game activities, rewards, and settlement decorations inspired by the Vikings' historical celebrations of the winter solstice. Some of the fresh items revolve around the likes of snowy beard and hair options for Eivor. Unfortunately, not everyone has been able to take part in the Ravensthorpe-based festivities, thanks in large part to players experiencing troubles with accessing the Yule Festival in AC Valhalla. At the very least, fans can rest assured that developers are well aware of the issues.

Following reports of errors that impede access to Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Yuletide content, Ubisoft announced plans to extend the event "so everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the winter festivities." The Yule Festival originally bore a scheduled end date of January 6. How much longer the in-game event will last due to the extension remains unknown at present. However, a post on the official Assassin's Creed Twitter page notes that developers will deploy a patch to address the error on an unspecified date in early January. The tweet in question reads as follows:

As many may recall, this isn't the first time developers have lengthened the stay of an in-game festival. A crashing glitch in AC Valhalla's Ostara Festival forced Ubisoft to remove the event, then reupload it for an extended period of time.

The latest version of Yule Festival launched on the heels of a couple of big announcements for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Last week, the title received Crossover Stories content that introduced Eivor to AC Odyssey hero Kassandra. Ubisoft additionally unveiled a third story expansion, Dawn of Ragnarök, which arrives in March 2022. At 35-plus hours long, the all-new paid DLC will once more place Eivor in the role of Odin as he ventures across the Dwarven kingdom of Svartalfheim in search of a way to rescue his son, Baldur.
