The Wrath of the Druids story expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla originally had an April 29 due date; in an effort to further refine the experience, Ubisoft is delaying the content's release by two weeks. Wrath of the Druids counts as the first of two major narrative expansions, the second being The Siege of Paris, which should launch sometime during the summer months.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's first story DLC will see protagonist Eivor embark on a journey to a new locale - Ireland. Once there, the character will find themselves ensnared in a mystery revolving around an ancient cult of druidic origin. Eivor is also expected to come face-to-face with other aspects of Gaelic mythology, as well as the region's nobles. Meanwhile, a trip to Frankia is in order for this summer's The Siege of Paris content, which will task Eivor and Co. with the herculean effort of infiltrating the fortified city of Paris.

In a brief post on the official Assassin's Creed Twitter account, Ubisoft announced the Wrath of the Druids downloadable content will no longer launch on April 29 as initially intended. To further refine the experience, the development team now targets a Thursday, May 13 release. A quick teaser video accompanied the news, which also noted that insights about the project's development will receive a deep dive at a later date. The post in question is linked below:

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla crew's hands have been full of late; thus, a two-week delay hardly comes as a surprise. Notably, last month's release of the Ostara Festival culminated in a number of game-affecting issues that forced Ubisoft to pull the in-game event offline for nearly a week. Its eventual return came alongside a one-week extension to April 15, giving players a bit more time to fully enjoy the experience.

Wrath of the Druids' delay could alter other post-launch plans for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The new Mastery Challenge game mode, for example, currently has a launch window of late spring . It's possible the postponement of the first story DLC will push the free game mode into the summer. But, at the time of writing, Ubisoft has yet to confirm such a shift.
