Part of what makes Janine such a likable character in the ABC show is that, even though she is often enthusiastic and sometimes a little overbearing, she’s still willing to be self-reflexive about her personality. This is very much in keeping with Brunson’s personality, as can be seen with the tone of her book, She Memes Well: Essays. The book is a very funny volume, but it’s also one that allows the reader to get a sense of her motivations and what motivates her creative activities.
