Former 90 Day Fiancé cast member Nicole Nafziger’s weight loss has brought positive and negative changes to her life and personality. Although it’s been a while since Nicole was last seen on any TLC show, fans remember her 90 Day Fiancé season 4 debut, in which she starred alongside then-partner, Azan Tefou. Moroccan man Azan, whose real name is Hassan M'Raouni, met single mother Nicole online. The Florida woman went to meet Azan in person, leaving her child behind in the U.S. Then, he told her that he was only "55%" attracted to her.

Azan, a fitness trainer by profession, thought that Nicole was a “little bit” big upon meeting her, as per a 90 Day Fiancé episode. He called Nicole “lazy,” and took her to the gym, so she could “change” and become “healthy.” Meanwhile, Nicole seemed completely smitten by Azan, mentioning how “hot” he was because of his fit body. Fans thought that Nicole was naive, as she didn't seem to understand that Azan was body-shaming her, and was probably with her only for a Green Card (which he didn’t end up getting). It’s rumored that Azan’s K-1 visa was denied because he had overstayed his vacation visa in a different country. Meanwhile, Nicole and Azan were forced to postpone their wedding twice. In July 2021, she finally confirmed that they’d split after five years of dating.

Nicole and Azan’s relationship looked like it was bound to fail from the start, but she did end up taking his fitness advice seriously. Although she claimed that she wasn’t going to change herself for a man, by March 2017, Nicole shared that she'd lost 13 pounds, due to following a Keto diet. Nicole kept her Instagram followers updated about her weight loss journey, which seemingly was going nowhere, with fans commenting, “I don’t see a difference” on Nicole’s before and after photos. The same fans who had cheered Nicole on when she took the first steps towards her transformation started to accuse her of lying, when they saw her hawking weight loss teas and weight loss shots in her IG pics.

Fans reminded Nicole that there is no quick fix, or easy way out, when it comes to losing weight. In her post comments from November 2019, someone even mentioned that the products that Nicole was shilling on Instagram gave them an upset stomach. Another fan wrote, “Same day diff angle..so tired of liars,” on the same photo. In 2021, when Nicole was posting about a “tasty supplement” that was supposed to be taken before workouts, fans couldn’t help but ask her, “Are you working out? or just cashing in?.” What made fans lose faith in Nicole to an even greater extent was the fact that she claimed her 90 Day Fiancé storyline with Azan was fake. There was no beauty store, and there was no $6000 that Nicole had invested in it. Moreover, Nicole started posting multiple clickbait stories on her Instagram page, such as ones that alleged she was pregnant, that Azan had passed away, or that her co-stars, such as Jenny Slatten or Angela Deem, had died.

What may have started off as Nicole’s attempt to lose weight ended up becoming a quick way for her to earn money, by selling sketchy products to her followers. She later used clickbait tactics to keep her boat floating. Nicole seems to have stopped posting the links to her clickbait articles, after being called out by 90 Day Fiancé co-star Cassia Tavares for using the late Jason Hitch’s death as an excuse to scam her followers. She is also using Instagram less, which leaves fans with no way of finding out how Nicole’s weight loss journey has been going. Overall, Nicole’s dieting methods may have not worked, but she ended up losing many followers thanks to her shady claims.
