Fans who have been begging for more 90 Day Fiancé content are getting their prayers answered with a new food-based spin off called 90 Day: Foody Call. TLC has been teasing more spin-offs since the launch of streaming service Discovery+, and now they’re starting to arrive. The latest addition to the 90 Day Fiancé universe will feature franchise fan favorites bonding and cooking in the kitchen. It’s the 90 Day Fiancé/Food Network crossover fans didn’t know they needed.

Though the franchise started with 90 Day Fiancé, the original series has since inspired several popular spin-off shows, including Before the 90 Days, The Single Life, 90 Days: The Other Way, and more. Now with Discovery+, all of the franchise spin offs are consolidated onto one streaming service (with the noticeable absence of the OG 90 Day Fiancé). The new spin-off show will join the already robust franchise portfolio, but the show’s food-based concept could help it stand out.

According to Deadline, the new show 90 Day: Foodie Call—presumably a play on the term ‘booty call’—will feature couples from the franchise cooking traditional meals from their home countries and answering viewer-submitted questions. The first season’s cast includes Russ and Paola, Tania and Syngin, Loren and Alexei, David and Annie, Sasha and Emily, and Robert and Anny. The Discovery+ exclusive show will debut on May 29.

Matt Sharp, head of the production company, revealed that a food-centric show had been considered before, but COVID provided the perfect opportunity. “We always thought it was a great concept and we pitched it for a number of years,” he told Deadline. “It was one of those ideas that sits in your bag and I refused to take it out of the bag. People were ready for something super authentic and we can see that in the viewing pattern, particularly over quarantine.

The 90 Day Fiancé franchise has toyed around with food-based concepts before, but their last cooking show with David and Annie aired on Facebook Watch, and not a major network or streaming service like Discovery+. It will be interesting to see the show’s couples whip up dishes in their own kitchens while fielding tough questions, and with the debut so close, fans won’t have to wait long to check out the new spin-off for themselves.
