90 Day Fiancé’s Paul Staehle announced that Karine Martins is divorcing him witha Rick and Morty GIF. The news does not surprise TLC fans as they saw a split coming from a mile away thanks to Paul’s terrorist charges hindering him from residing in Brazil.

Paul is 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way's go-to runaway, which makes interesting TV for viewers, but left many wondering how the man functions on a day-to-day basis. Viewers first met Paul when he appeared on season 1 and 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and viewers caught the first glimpse of Paul running away when he told Karine about his criminal record, explaining to her that he had spent time in jail for arson and had a restraining order placed against him by his ex-girlfriend. Before Karine had time to process the information and respond, Paul jumped up and ran away into the forest, saying that Karine didn't deserve “damaged goods.” The last viewers saw of Paul was when the couple, who still lived in Brazil, agreed to try and make their relationship work for their son.

On November 11, Paul claimed that his wife, Karine would be filing for divorce from him. The reality star took to Instagram to share a cryptic message (via: Us Weekly). Paul posted a GIF from the popular animated show Rick and Morty that showed the character Jerry Smith crying, along with a message that read in Portuguese that Karine had started divorce proceedings in Manaus, Brazil. The Kentucky native then added a video of his son, Pierre Martins Staehle, saying that he would miss him and played with his 7-month-old son’s toy.

Even though Karine did not comment on her husband's post or confirm if they were getting divorced, she was not to be outdone on social media and posted an Instagram story of her baby boy playing with his uncle. Before the divorce rumors, the couple announced on November 8 that their house in Brazil had been broken into and that they had lost all their valuable possessions.

Fans are all too familiar with Paul crying wolf about the state of his relationship with Karine. In a deleted Facebook post from September, he told fans that his marriage was over and Karine had asked him to delete all photos of them together. In another incident, he claimed that Karine had hired a divorce lawyer and said that he needed to find his own representation. Most 90 Day Fiancé fans would agree that the couple would be better off if they did separate because it looked as if Karine was fed up with Paul’s antics and lack of work ethic.
