90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way's Karine Martins and Paul Staehle are apparently divorcing. According to Paul, Karine has hired a divorce lawyer. It seems that the couple is calling it quits once and for all.
Paul first appeared on Seasons 1 and 2 of TLC's 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where viewers saw him and his wife, Karine, who were married in November 2017, meet for the first time on camera in Brazil. The couple had struggled a lot, but one particularly heartbreaking low was when Karine suffered a miscarriage on the show. When Karine found out she was pregnant again and was unable to come to the US because Paul couldn't afford the K-1 visa process, in which his mom refused to sponsor him. He decided to move to Brazil instead. On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, it's been highlighting the moments before the birth of their baby boy, Pierre. It was reported that it's possible that Paul and Karine were finally living together in the US after they were spotted near Paul's hometown.
It seems that Karine's American dream has come crashing down as the two may be divorcing. According to the now-deleted Facebook posts by Paul (via Reality TV World), he claims that Karine has hired a divorce lawyer. The posts were screenshot by fans before they were deleted. Paul wrote in the first Facebook status, "Karine asked me to remove our photos. And let everyone know that she doesn't want me in her life." He then went on to write another status in a mixture of both Portuguese and English. He wrote, "Karine advogado de divorcio me ligou. Guess I need a lawyer." The status translated to English, the Portuguese text reads, "Karine's divorce lawyer called me."
Shortly after posting both of the statuses, Paul appears to have deleted both of the posts and deactivated his Facebook account. His Instagram account, however, remains active, although all of the pictures of Karine are deleted. Paul first began talking about the prospect of Karine threatening to divorce him, by writing via Instagram stories, "Doing a poll strictly out of curiosity. For someone I know very well...... Should a wife divorce her husband over his mother buying gifts daily spoiling their son?" It seems that most of Karine's issues in America happened with Paul's over-protective and sometimes a little too doting of a mother got in the picture. It's rumored that Paul and Karine are living with his mother. He then wrote on another Instagram story, "Should a grandmother be banned from seeing her grandchildren over spoiling them. And a husband be divorced for defending his mother's actions?"
As fans of 90 Day Fiancé know, there are plenty of couples who threaten divorce who never actually go through with it. Karine, for example, had threatened it right before the birth of their baby. It seems that this could be the end of Karine and Paul. What will be the fate of Karine and if she will have to go back to Brazil with their baby, Pierre, remains to be seen.
