TLC viewers did not think it was a good idea for 90 Day Fiancé star Zied Hakimi to complain to his mom about life in America with Rebecca Parrott. When Zied started finding fault with his new life, he'd only been in the United States for one day.
Parrott and Hakimi starred in the popular TLC series 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and initially fell in love through social media. Parrott had already been through the K1 Visa process with her Moroccan husband, from whom she chose to separate due to his controlling side. Parrott flew to Tunisia to meet Hakimi, just to make sure that they would be compatible. She spent almost a month with him. Now, the couple has been approved for the K1 Visa, and they are starting their new life together after a year apart.
In Sunday’s episode, Zied Hakimi complained to his mother on the phone. He was feeling homesick. Immediately, fans reacted, by saying he should not be venting to her when the cameras are rolling since it will hurt his relationship with Rebecca Parrott.
The buildup to the call was extensive. After a long evening of being chaperoned by Rebecca's daughter, the couple finally arrived at their new apartment, which has a warehouse vibe. Upon waking up on his first full day in America, Zied needs to spend time alone, as Parrott has to go to work. She is the only one earning a wage to pay the bills. The Tunisian makes his own coffee and shows off the big jug of milk while he calls his mother. His mom is obviously still upset that he left her behind. The only son points out that he really knows no one and would usually be meeting up with a couple of friends by now. The call home seemed to do more harm than good, as his homesickness really kicked in. All Hakimi’s mother can do is pray for him. Parrott finally arrived home with some cute dolls as gifts but dropped some bombs on her fiancé. Hakimi made it known that after just one day, he already wanted to plan a trip to Tunisia. Rebecca then explained that he can’t leave the country for an entire year.
Naturally, Parrott is wondering if their 90 Day Fiancé relationship will stand the test of time. The odds are good that he calls his mother a lot to complain. It looks like they may be going down a road where Hakimi carries resentment towards his future wife. Fans can watch their story unfold every Sunday.
