Yara Zaya of 90 Day Fiancé is no stranger to harsh criticism, but fans don’t always know the kind of hate she receives. In the past, Yara has been dragged, mom-shamed, and pestered with DMs on social media, and she recently received a series of awful messages from a misguided fan and decided to share it with her followers so they can have a glimpse of the vitriol she receives on the regular.
Many fans were skeptical of Yara’s motives when she first moved to New Orleans to be with her then-fiancé Jovi Dufren, but now viewers are more split. There are some who can’t get enough of her glam looks and sass, but there are others who can’t stand the way Yara treats her mother-in-law Gwen and her overall attitude. Yara’s fans think she’s wildly entertaining, but her critics consider her to be bratty and lazy. Unfortunately, there are many fans who can’t seem to keep their opinion to themselves.
In the past, Yara has responded strongly to accusations and criticism, but rarely does she post their actual messages. In her Instagram stories, Yara recently shared the hateful words a fan sent her. The fan heavily criticized Yara’s appearance, calling her “worse than Shrek,” and said “Gwen and Jovi deserve so much more than you.” Yara was called many awful names, and the fan told her to “f*** off back to Ukraine you such a waste of space!!!!” It seems Yara was shocked, because she commented on the messages, “Wow, and she is mommy, just wow.”
The 90 Day Fiancé star obviously has her critics, but that’s not to say Yara doesn’t have sympathetic fans. There was one who sent Yara a message expressing their dismay that Yara gets so much hate. “They just get angry because they first hate it in themselves and not in me,” Yara responded. “And just now I understand that so many people. Unfortunately, do not know how to think. It would be great if everyone would have brains like you.”
The disturbing messages Yara received is an example of the intense scrutiny that 90 Day Fiancé stars are often under. Though many fans don’t agree with Yara’s actions or attitude, that doesn’t give them a free pass to spew hate in her direction. Luckily for Yara, she still has supporters who stick up for her when other viewers try to tear her down. Despite the mean messages Yara regularly receives, it appears she has the strong resolve and thick skin needed to make it in reality TV.
