90 Day Fiancé star Yara Zaya has finally revealed the real reasons why she doesn’t like the vibrant city of New Orleans. Yara was first introduced to the franchise on 90 Day Fiancé season 8, when she moved from her home country of Kyiv, Ukraine to marry Jovi Dufren in the United States. Yara and Jovi connected through a traveling app, which they have described as a platform for frequent travelers to meet new people. Their love story played out accordingly from there. Yara and Jovi met up in Budapest, Jovi proposed to her in Cuba, Yara got pregnant shortly after, and they got married in Las Vegas.

When 90 Day Fiancé's Yara Zaya arrived in the U.S., Jovi introduced her to her new home in New Orleans, Louisiana. Yara recently took to her Instagram story to reply to a fan’s question as to what she doesn’t love about the exciting city. Yara started by saying, “I disrespect New Orleans so much because of my small freaking English.” She continued by describing New Orleans as a hotspot for tourists, mentioning that it is a “beautiful city,” but more of a place to drink and celebrate Mardi Gras, than to raise a family. Yara also noted that she doesn’t mind hot weather when she has beach access, which downtown New Orleans does not provide.

Yara Expressed Her Dislike For New Orleans While On 90 Day Fiancé

Yara Zaya and Jovi Dufren In 90 Day Fiancé

Yara was never a fan of living in New Orleans permanently, and she made it known to Jovi throughout her time on 90 Day Fiancé. She expressed her dislike of the couple's living situation in the energetic city from the start, outlining safety concerns, the excessive nightlife, and even the weather at times. Yara was actually filmed on multiple occasions throughout 90 Day Fiancé season 8 outright bashing the city. Her opposition to New Orleans naturally only grew stronger when she gave birth to her daughter Mylah in 2020. All of these reasons eventually led to Jovi and Yara's move to a neighborhood in a Louisiana suburb.

Although Yara was openly against New Orleans on the show, her recent response on Instagram shows that she does appreciate some aspects of the city. If Yara is considering the future with Jovi, then it was necessary for her to speak up about her concerns of staying there. It is understandable for Yara to not love the idea of raising Mylah in such an unsafe environment. It is also important to note that the timing and circumstances that surrounded her arrival in the city likely impacted her initial opinions. Moving to a more family-friendly area of Louisiana appears to have loosened Yara's hostility toward New Orleans, which was expressed in the show.

Yara’s reasoning behind not wanting to live in New Orleans was depicted very negatively throughout her time on 90 Day Fiancé, but her opinion has definitely shifted since. Her response revealed why she simply does not wish to live there, which is reasonable and understandable. Aside from the move, there are other issues to address for Yara and Jovi to save their marriage. Though the pair seems to be struggling at times, they are still together, so another appearance on the 90 Day Fiancé franchise can be expected.
