Jovi Dufren is a well-meaning guy, but can often leave his family and friends feeling exasperated, which the 90 Day Fiancé star did recently when he wished his dad happy birthday but made one glaring error. Usually, Jovi is good with birthdays, and recently he threw his wife Yara an early surprise party. However, for his dad’s birthday post on social media, Jovi proved that even when he has the best of intentions, he can still make facepalm-worthy mistakes.

An important part of Jovi and Yara’s K-1 visa journey during season 8 was Jovi’s family getting to know their new daughter in law. At first, Jovi’s parents were hesitant about accepting Yara and for a while were hung up on stereotypes about Ukrainian women wanting green cards. But Yara’s sassy charm and genuine love for Jovi won them over. Now, Jovi’s parents have welcomed Yara into their family and regularly include her in gatherings. The whole family is getting along well, enough so that Yara pointed out a major mistake in Jovi’s birthday post about his dad.

On Instagram, Jovi shared a photo of himself with his father Monty, captioned “Happy late 65th birthday to my dad @montyeymard Thanks for everything you’ve done for me!” But there’s just one problem—Jovi’s dad isn’t 65. Yara quickly commented on the photo, saying “56 jooooooovi!” The dyslexic moment was even noticed by Jovi’s mother Gwen, who said, “cruel Jovi!” and corrected several other follower in the comments section when they wished her husband a happy 65th birthday. “Hahhaha s***, I must have got the numbers backwards,” Jovi replied, seeing the humor in the mistake.

It’s notable that Yara was the first one to pick up on Jovi’s error and point out his father’s actual age. Yara wasn’t always so close with Jovi’s family, and there was definitely tension between them in the beginning. But now Yara and Gwen have become a fan-favorite duo, and she’s clearly friendly enough with Jovi’s dad Monty to know his age. Such detailed knowledge about her in-laws shows that Yara is officially part of the family, and is embracing her new home in America.

It’s easy to poke fun at the 90 Day Fiancé star, but Jovi’s error seems like an honest mistake. After all, who among us hasn’t had a dyslexic moment at one time or another? But it’s still pretty funny to see Jovi get his dad’s age that wrong, even if it was by accident. Luckily, Jovi has Yara on his side, who never hesitates to point out when Jovi does something dumb or cringey. Yara’s definitely part of the family now, and it seems she’s done her homework.
