Fans of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days are already skeptical about cast member Mike Berk's Colombian girlfriend, Ximena. Based on what has been revealed thus far, Ximena has viewers concerned. Mike is admittedly green when it comes to romantic relationships, and Ximena may, or may not, be planning to take advantage of this reality.
Mike, 34, who lives in Thiells, New York with his father and grandfather, is a volunteer firefighter who admits that his love life has been less than stellar. Apart from a relationship he had in high school, he has been single for the better part of two decades. Mike further discloses that his search for love went international after failing to find anyone locally. After meeting Ximena on an international dating app, the two became romantically inclined and had been in touch for approximately a year before Mike began to plan a trip to Colombia. He also revealed (much to his younger brother's concern) that, if things go well on the trip, he'll propose to Ximena and proceed down the path to obtaining a K-1 visa in order to bring her to the States.
Mike, by all accounts is a sweet, but naive guy, which is why fans of the franchise are worried for him. Concerns range from Ximena's overt interest in his financial support, to suspicion that she may be involved in other similar relationships, to her outright admission that she cares for Mike but doesn't love him. As reported by Cheatsheet, fans of the show fear that Mike is falling for a woman who is merely using him and they don't want him to be emotionally decimated by the experience.
Ximena, the twenty-four year old mother of two boys, stunned Mike by "swiping right" on the dating app that connected them. Despite the fact that neither is fluent in the other's language, they manage to communicate via translation apps and have already broached the topics of marriage and parenthood. She is also very vocal about wanting someone to support her. One fan declared the relationship a potential "dumpster fire," while others have been willing to recognize that at least she's honest about her intentions.
Mike seems like a salt-of-the-earth type of guy who just wants to find true love. Fans' concerns about Ximena's intentions seem well-founded because of his inexperience in the romance department. Even his younger brother worries that Mike's naiveté may get the best of him in this circumstance. Mike and Ximena's future is unclear at this point, but 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days viewers overwhelmingly seem to be rooting for him.
