Paola Mayfield has gotten a lot of criticism from 90 Day Fiancé fans in the past, but one thing they seem to roll their eyes at the most is Paola’s wrestling career. Earlier this year, Paola unveiled her wrestling persona and began fighting in matches. However, many fans haven’t taken her new career move seriously and think it’s just a phase. The season 1 star may be passionate about her new direction in life, but she shouldn’t expect to get too much support from the majority of fans.

In season 1 of 90 Day Fiancé, Paola was introduced to viewers when she moved from Colombia to Oklahoma to be with her fiancé Russ Mayfield. The couple got married on the show and later welcomed a son, Axel, in 2019. The family of three became one of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise’s flagship couples and Paola rocketed to influencer status on Instagram. Unfortunately, Russ and Paola announced they’re taking a break and need to work on their marriage.

But aside from her family life, Paola is passionate about her wrestling career, though fans are skeptical. It’s hard for many fans to get interested in Paola’s wrestling because they know her from the 90 Day Fiancé franchise and are more interested in her relationship with Russ than her suplex. There’s probably not a lot of crossover between 90 Day Fiancé fans and pro-wrestling fans, so most of the followers Paola gained from the franchise aren’t going to care about following her wrestling exploits. It’s hard for fans to take Paola’s wrestling career seriously because they aren’t interested in it in the first place, and they’d rather see cute photos of Paola’s son Axel.

Paola’s wrestling reinvention also seemed to come out of left field to many long-time 90 Day Fiancé viewers. Although Paola has always been passionate about fitness, she also seemed to be more interested in looking glamorous on Instagram. She has a fiery temper, sure, but Paola wasn’t explosively confrontational the way some of the show’s stars can be. Fans can’t help but think Paola’s wrestling is a cry for more attention. She has already changed her wrestling name from Paola "Blaze" to the more simple Paola Mayfield, and fans take that as a sign that she’s wishy-washy about this career path in general.

Some 90 Day Fiancé fans have mocked Paola’s wrestling, and it’s a sign that they don’t see it as a serious career move. Many viewers aren’t interested in following Paola down the wrestling path, and they don’t expect it to last. In the past, Paola has eagerly changed things in her life, whether it’s her hair color or where to live. But that has led fans to believe she is just as likely to change careers many times, and they see wrestling as a phase. Paola’s best bet is to win over pro-wrestling fans and she shouldn’t expect much support from fans of the franchise.
