Far away girl, other side of the world, a brother wanna make you my round the way girl," Tarik Myers had rapped for Hazel Cagalitan on 90 Day Fiancé while proposing to her. After meeting the Filipina online, Virginia Beach resident Tarik flew all the way to her city to meet her for the first time. The intimacy issues, religious differences, and lack of trust between Tarik and Hazel gave 2018's season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days some of its most memorable moments. But with the couple now returning for season 8 of the original TLC show, here’s how things have changed for Tarik and Hazel.

If there’s one thing that makes a couple stand out in any 90 Day Fiancé season or spinoff, it’s them having a major age gap. Of course, Tarik, 46, and Hazel, 28, were no different, but it was also their awkward conversations around sex that made TLC fans cringe. The realtor, who lived alone with his daughter Ariela, found single mother Hazel on an Asian website and thought he “got lucky” and “hit the jackpot.” Tarik had mentioned having a Bangkok-based girlfriend earlier, which didn’t work out. All that aside, he still traveled over 9,000 miles to the Philippines, where Hazel was “uncomfortable” around him. Upon meeting Hazel’s parents, Tarik was taken to the location of the infamous church scene. Later, his brother also showed up to make sure he wasn’t getting fooled, and also insult the Filipina. Meanwhile, Hazel's sister insisted on her marrying a Japanese man, but she reluctantly accepted Tarik’s proposal anyway. While leaving, Hazel mentioned that she was homeless, and later on also revealed she was pregnant.

During the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days Tell-All, Tarik revealed that Hazel was “just late” on her period. But in spite of the pregnancy scare almost running their relationship, Tarik and Hazel managed to stay together. Because of Hazel openly admitting that she wanted to move to America to have a better life, 90 Day Fiancé fans crowned her a gold digger. With her return to the show, Hazel introduced plans to get her 9-year-old son, who she earlier didn’t have custody of, to move with her. But according to In Touch, a bigger shocker came when it was revealed that she is bisexual.

Currently, the 90 Day Fiancé couple both have lovey-dovey pictures of each other on their Instagram feeds. Tarik, who lovingly calls himself and Hazel, “Tarzel,” is often seen posting pictures with her. Hazel, who has returned to Instagram after a year, proudly displays “#tarzel” in her bio. A throwback picture from October 2018 on Hazel’s feed says, “I love him. Period.” Meanwhile, her 90 Day Fiancé partner claims that’s “it’s his job” to keep Hazel smiling in the comments from one of his posts.

Since Hazel was spotted for the first time in the U.S. in August, as per SoapDirt, it can be assumed that her 90-day period on the K-1 visa must have certainly ended. Does it mean that, despite Hazel’s insistence of starting a “throuple” with Tarik, she married him? Perhaps season 8 of 90 Day Fiancé will see the never-been-married Tarik finally walk down the aisle for the first time with his “Asian Angelina Jolie.”
