Former 90 Day Fiancé star Varya Malina shared with fans that she plans on joining the United States National Guard. The Russian reality personality has been making headlines lately after she publicly sided with fellow former franchise star Geoffrey Paschel, who was recently found guilty of kidnapping and domestic assault against another ex of his. Varya and Geoffrey appeared together on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4.

After the show aired, it was unclear if the Russian/American couple was still together. However, when Varya announced her support for Geoffrey, she also shared that the pair had still been in a relationship when the Tennessee man was convicted. Since this announcement, Varya, who was not previously super active on social media, has been posting Reels and photos on Instagram every day. Her posts have included constant videos and memories from before Geoffrey was found guilty, as well as other random posts, such as the Russian 90 Day Fiancé star's trick for making money on Reels.

Varya's latest post reveals a career choice that's confusing to many 90 Day Fiancé fans: she's joining the U.S. National Guard. The star posted a video on Instagram Reels of herself dancing while her announcement flashed on the screen. In the caption, Varya admitted that she never expected herself to be making this life choice and that she knew many fans likely did not expect it either. A few fans asked her in the comments why she decided to join the National Guard, to which Varya replied that she can't tell them because it would be too long of a story.

Varya's fellow 90 Day Fiancé cast member Natalie Mordovtseva, who was also slammed by fans for publicly supporting Geoffrey following his conviction, shared her encouragement for Varya in the comments. Natalie said that Varya would be "awesome" in the National Guard. Lots of other fans also shared support in the comments, many of them also sharing that they are either active military or veterans themselves. In her Instagram Story posted the same day, Varya showed herself returning to a hotel room after what she described as a "long, hard day." Her Reels video was also filmed in a hotel room, and she shared in a comment that she had to wake up at 4:30 a.m. the following day for training.

If Varya was already in a hotel room preparing to train to be in the National Guard, that gives 90 Day Fiancé fans the clue that joining the National Guard was not a sudden decision and that Varya has been planning it for a while. It's unlikely that Varya will appear in future franchise shows because of her public involvement with a convicted felon. So viewers curious about her new adventure will have to follow her on social media in order to keep up.
