90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days star Usman Umar, aka “Sojaboy,” had a strange reaction to Kim Menzies crying during the Tell-All that has baffled fans. Kim, a 50-year-old from San Diego, saw her biggest dream come true when she finally became the official girlfriend of Nigerian singer Usman, who is 32. Fearing that Kim would turn out to be like his ex-wife Lisa Hamme, who was jealous of his female fans, Usman maintained a distance between Kim and claimed she was his “potential” girlfriend. But as Kim tried and tried to get Usman to date her, little did she know that he was still in love with Zara, his ex-girlfriend.
Usman claimed he loved Kim but didn’t waste any time before calling Zara as soon as the former left for the United States. Kim was upset with Usman over refusing to kiss her in public. But he also betrayed her trust by video calling Zara with his shirt unbuttoned from his bed and asking her if she missed anything about him. The clip of Usman and Zara’s video call was played during the 90 Day Fiancé Tell-All, and Kim was shocked by what she saw. “Wow, this is humiliating,” Kim exclaimed as the rest of her cast members watched on. “I even wanna cry,” said Jasmine Pineda, and Kim herself broke into tears. She said she didn’t know about the call as Usman asked her to “calm down” and pointed a finger at her as he told her, “Kimberly, don’t cry.”
However, it looked as if Usman was trying to hold back his laughter as he watched Kim shed tears. Usman claimed he would never cheat on Kim. But because she refused to react to what he said, Usman asked her, “Can you hear me?” Kim got up and let the Tell-All set, while Usman kept clapping, which even Kim’s son, Jamal, thought was odd. Fans, such as Reddit user cocochipjelly, thought Usman wagging his finger like Kim was being naughty was “just bizarre.” TLC viewer torcel999 posted, “He's trying to hold back laughter because it's all a joke and a game to him. As I've said before, her feelings are the least of his concerns.”
Fans noted that everything Usman did during the scene was immature. Asking Kim to “hold on” by clapping at her through the screen wasn’t going to help him win back her trust. “He’s always smiling when she cries!!! Awful,” wrote gonelibragirl. Some wondered why Usman agreed to have his call with Zara filmed by the 90 Day Fiancé team because he would have known it was going to be shown to Kim later on. Usman has been accused of using the show to promote his career, which is also what he did during this season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Usman was supposed to be with Zara on the show. But when they broke up, he didn’t waste the opportunity and roped in Kim, with whom he clearly wasn’t even romantically interested.
Kim’s desperation on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is something that has been called out numerous times. Usman is aware that Kim is someone who’d easily forgive him if he apologizes to her and woos her with a little bit of song and dance. Usman laughing at Kim being emotional was unacceptable, however. At the same time, it could have been part of his plan to create more drama in his storyline. His behavior around Kim has time and again proved that he hardly cares about her feelings. The last time he laughed at Kim was when she threw a drink in his face. This time around, Kim might just break up with Usman, thus setting him free to go back to Zara.
