Some 90 Day Fiancé viewers think Usman "Sojaboy" Umar brainwashes women into falling for him only so he can scam them later. Usman has come a long way since viewers first met him on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4 with ex-wife Lisa Hamme. He may have had humble beginnings, but there are now people around the world who know him. While Lisa was out to ruin Usman’s career, he also owes his fame to her.

In a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Usman filmed the music video for his song “Zara” in Tanzania. It was Usman who invited Kim Menzies to come along with him and explore a romantic relationship. However, a year of talking and Kim wooing Usman with expensive gifts in a honeymoon suite didn’t help him develop feelings for her. In fact, Usman, who confessed he wanted Kim with him in Tanzania to get comfortable with his stardom, ended up using her as a manager. Kim also became jealous after seeing Usman getting cozy with a model when he hadn't even hugged Kim yet.

Kim, who doesn’t like to identify as Usman’s “superfan,” was nonetheless treated like one when he spoke to her via DMs. He's made Kim feel like she is special to him, which ended up giving her the wrong idea about his feelings. The fact that Usman was called out by Lisa when they split for being a romance scammer didn’t deter Kim who decided that one day she would marry him. However, that’s exactly what viewers believe Usman’s goal is – to fool an American woman into falling for him so he can get a visa.

90 Day Fiancé Kim and Usman

It’s suspected that Usman gets help from his team to exaggerate his popularity as Sojaboy since he’s not even a well-known name in his own country. However, a woman like Kim is likely to get swept away after she’s singled out and sent a DM by a man she idolizes after watching him on TV. After all, Kim is a second choice for Usman, who initially was set to star in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 with his ex Zara. While he claims they had a fallout over the attention Usman gets from female fans, it’s possible the younger woman saw through Usman’s scam and decided to leave him.

Still, there are some subtle cues in Usman’s behavior that suggest he has genuine feelings for Kim. The way he laid down on Kim’s lap instinctively after a tiring shoot day or how he blushed while telling Rosa Ree that he sees Kim as his potential wife, speaks a lot about his intentions. His relationship with Lisa gave Usman a reputation as a scammer on 90 Day Fiancé. However, Lisa is not someone to be trusted, and Usman claims she actually scammed him of his Cameo earnings. Kim, too, is a sensible woman who wouldn’t spend her savings on Usman if she didn’t feel he was really worth it. This explains why Kim and Usman get along so well off-screen, regardless of whether they are still together.
