Tom Brooks has become infamous on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days and now claims he didn't even want to do the show. The cameras recorded it all: Tom insulted his fiancée Darcey as well as other women on social media, which earned a well-deserved backlash. If you mock a person's weight after they agree to part civilly with you, then viewers have a right to judge.

The couple had a relationship that was on the rocks as the crew filmed. Tom was a master of the mixed message as Darcey flew to visit him in the U.K., where he alternated between rejecting her and seeking commitment. Darcey, understandably, misread the signals while showing her lack of etiquette. He also cheated on her and lied about it. Darcey is the type of woman to fall head over heels in love and Tom wasn't ready for a relationship with her. He ended up being the hurtful one during their last date. Tom is also not getting along with his costars, including Avery Warner after he set her up for a date while she was on a relationship break with her fiancé. Avery was not amused by this; neither were the viewers.

According to an interview with blogger, Domenick Nati, Tom Brooks regretted doing the show. After recounting that while, yes, he did hurt Darcey, he posted a photo of his niece, an innocent image that is probably not damage-control. In the comments, he says he wishes he had never agreed to be a reality TV star. It makes sense since Instagram raked him for fat-shaming women and he is staying on the down-low about a new girlfriend. Watch Tom's full interview on The Domenick Nati Show in the post below:

It seems that the couples featured on the show seem to forget one cardinal rule: they are constantly being watched by the crew, and by the viewers several months later. Thus, expect viewers to judge your behavior, especially when you repeat it on indelible social media posts. You would expect that after a few seasons that both the men and women would get the memo. Apparently not, as this sort of drama keeps happening and then the costars regret their shameful behavior being on a permanent record.

Is being on reality TV for everyone, especially as it drastically changes their image? Probably not; people like having their privacy and the ability to craft a refined identity for others. Heck, some relationships should not be revealed to the public when they make no sense to the audience. Tom revealed, however, a sense of immaturity that finally yielded to hindsight. He probably could have worked on his character growth without a camera nearby, and a partner that he could trust. For some reason, Darcey was not that partner.

Tom hasn't realized that the show wasn't the problem; it's that he couldn't be a proper gentleman. Whether or not the camera is on, you need to communicate with your partner and be as kind to them as possible. There are times to open your mouth, and other times to keep hurtful comments to yourself. Tom couldn't distinguish between the two. Now that 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is finally over, it seems that Tom will be keeping to himself from now on and has no plans to return to the TLC show.
