Tom Brooks has appeared in multiple 90 Day Fiancé seasons and he's gained a reputation as a major franchise villain, while seriously offending plenty of viewers. His actions on and off of the show have drawn criticism from reality fans. The 41-year-old Brit is perceived as being fake and arrogant in front of the cameras. Many people are hoping that his time in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise will end soon.
On 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 3, Darcey Silva was fresh off of a dramatic breakup with another 90 Day Fiancé alum, Jesse Meester. Many fans were hoping that Tom would be the unproblematic new boyfriend. Over seasons three and four, a lot of fans saw the writing on the wall before Darcey did. They realized that shady Tom wasn't a good match for her. Having a long-distance relationship and communication problems were just the tip of the iceberg for this couple. Now, Tom has solidified himself as a true 90 Day Fiancé bad boy, and several of his actions over the years have angered fans.
Wannabe Influencer
Tom showcases sophisticated style on his social media profiles and in the franchise, but his critics have said that he is pretending to be James Bond. He has also gotten dragged for having a separate Instagram travel account, as he seems to be using his fame from the show to become an influencer. Some fans even found possible evidence that some of his posts of a house he claimed he lived in were faked to make him look wealthier than he is.
Cheating Scandal
Fans may recall that when Tom and Darcey hit a rough patch on Before the 90 Days, while they weren't communicating well, Darcey discovered recent pictures of Tom cuddled up with another woman in his native Nottingham, England. Darcey had no idea that he had already begun another serious relationship across the pond while he was involved with her. She seemed heartbroken when she learned the truth. Many fans felt that Tom used Darcey to get on TV and ditched her after gaining some recognition.
Tough Conversation with Darcey
When Darcey confronted Tom, he became very defensive and made some comments about her that were uncalled for. The conversation quickly became very biting, and Tom hurled several insults at Darcey, even though he had been the one cheating. To top the conversation off, he asked if she had gained weight since he had last seen her. A lot of people thought he was extremely rude to her. Tom apologized in a letter but soon went back to insulting Darcey. He even made moves on several other 90 Day Fiancé castmates soon after. Those moves made him look quite desperate.
Controversial Girlfriend
Tom's track record with dating women on and off of 90 Day Fiancé is abysmal, as franchise fans believe he's using them and doing anything to get more attention. His latest choice in women has also angered many fans, as Mariah was revealed to allegedly still be married while she and Tom were getting serious. Most fans did not support their relationship and drew comparisons between Mariah and Darcey, as they have similar looks, albeit different hair colors. She has also been flamed by fans who called her ignorant after she started making several anti-vaccination comments on her social media. Tom seems to enjoy playing the villain, so Mariah should proceed with caution.
