Gabriel Paboga from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way is not only making history by being the first male transgender cast member on the franchise but is also earning praise for his business called GMPwear. Florida man Gabriel and his wife Isabel Posada from Colombia are among the five couples that debuted on The Other Way in early 2023. Gabriel and Isabel’s storyline follows the tensions between him and Isabel’s family because he kept his transition a secret before their wedding.

During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4, many things about Gabriel and Isabel’s life were revealed. Gabriel began dressing in men's clothes and, at 16 years old, came out as a lesbian. Six years later, Gabriel saw videos of a man who had transitioned and knew that was his path too. He has been open with viewers about his journey and the fact that he had both his top and bottom surgery done. During the season, Gabriel became a 90 Day Fiancé fan favorite.

How 90 Day Fiancé Star Gabriel Started His GMPwear Business

Gabriel spoke about transgender men having to wear a packer, which creates the effect of a bulge underneath the underwear with a harness in place. However, it is both a lot of work and cumbersome. Gabriel addressed his product development, saying, “I came up with the idea for my business because packers fall out your pants,” he added while recalling an incident where he was swimming and the sock stuffed in his underwear fell out for all to see.

Everything To Know About Gabriel’s Business

To help solve this problem, Gabriel created GMPwear or Get More Proud wear for people who have not had their bottom surgery yet. He explained it as “swapping out what genitalia you have,” so Gabriel’s underwear already has a bulge in them. He is proud of making a product that transgender people use regularly.

Gabriel uses an expensive foam to create his gender-affirming underwear. He makes the packers himself and sews them onto the readymade underwear. “No need to pack your pants with foreign uncomfortable, and expensive packers. Instead, just put your underwear on and go,” he says on his website for GMPwear.

How Gabriel’s Underwear Business Helped Him Meet Isabel

Gabriel has a manufacturer for his underwear, but over a year ago, he flew to Colombia to look for a new supplier. When he met Isabel at a mutual friend's house, he was looking for someone to help him sew the underwear. Gabriel felt immediate chemistry with Isabel and went out dancing with her. She didn’t know Gabriel was transgender, and because they didn’t sleep together that night, Gabriel told Isabel about him being a trans man the morning after via text.

Isabel later confessed she loved him for who he was, and it didn’t matter to her. A couple of months after they met, Gabriel started renting an apartment in Medellin, Colombia. At that point, Isabel moved out of her family’s house and in with Gabriel, who made back-and-forth trips until he decided to finally relocate in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. Everything, including Gabriel’s sewing machines, went with him to Colombia.
