90 Day Fiancé’s Sumit is divorcing his secret wife, but Corey Rathgeber thinks he’s lying. Corey was the bully of the tell-all episode as he picked on everyone else’s relationship.
Sumit and Jenny originally met when Sumit catfished her on social media while he was working in India, saying he was a young model from the United States, when in reality he worked in an overcrowded call center. Jenny still made the journey to visit India to meet him, but his family refused to accept their relationship, which made their union tricky. Most fans find it hard to believe the couple could have much in common, especially with a 30-year age gap, but it did seem as if the May-December couple had true feelings for one another before it went downhill.
Corey Rathgeber was not keeping his mouth shut on part two of the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way tell-all special that aired on October 21. While the Oregon native had his own problems since learning that his friend Raul Cabrera still loved Evelin Villegas, as well as the simple truth that she forgot to wear her engagement ring, it made perfect sense for the reality star to try and deflect onto another one of his castmates.
The big moment of the night was when Jenny had her one-on-one with host Shaun Robinson. Viewers waited with bated breath to see if Sumit would be brave enough to show his face after having lied to pretty much everyone. Lo and behold, he showed up via video call. To everyone’s surprise, the two announced that Sumit was officially separated from his wife and working toward a divorce. But some still refused to believe in their love, like her daughter Christina and costar Corey. Her daughter told viewers how hard it was to process the call from her mother telling her that Sumit had been secretly married and did not want her mother to go through that pain again. Then, to fans' surprise, Corey put his two cents in. He asked Sumit why he chose to lie and how he expected anyone to believe him. The collective couch gasped, and it's likely that everyone was probably thinking the same thing: Corey was trying to deflect from the issue of Evelin cheating on him.
The whole episode felt a bit like The Twilight Zone thanks to Corey and Evelin being the aggressive couple toward everyone else’s drama. Evelin poked fun at Karini having men send her money and said she should ask for one million dollars. Corey then took a stab at Ronald and Tiffany’s marriage, which she did not stand for. To fans, it was obvious that Corey was just trying to act like an alpha male in front of Evelin. But it backfired. Rumors have surfaced that the two have separated.
