Sumit Singh from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way has revealed why his mother Sahna has really started staying with him and Jenny Slatten in season 3. The teaser for the 2021 edition of this popular 90 Day Fiancé spinoff showed Jenny living a happy life together in India with Sumit and later lashing out. Flying chairs and F-bombs took over the scene with Sumit and Jenny as she gave him an ultimatum that he had to get married to her this time around. However, Jenny’s former best friend and Sumit’s mom Sahna coming to stay with the couple after her suicide threats is not sounding good at all.
The last time 90 Day Fiancé fans saw Sumit and Jenny with his parents Anil and Sahna in one place was during their 90 Day: Bares All episode. It was known to fans via TOW season 2 that Jenny had stayed with Sumit and his parents in their house for four months in 2013 and the two women had also become great friends. In fact, Sahna had also given Jenny an outfit especially made for her by a tailor. According to Jenny, Sumit’s mother had agreed to their wedding as long as the California resident took him to the U.S. Anil and Sahna were embarrassed about having an older daughter-in-law in India, but Jenny stated that financial reasons came in the way.
During 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 2, Sahna was rude to Jenny and told Sumit that she’d kill herself if the couple got married. Back then, dutiful Indian son Sumit stayed mum, but in an interview with ET, he has revealed what Sahna’s true intentions are behind her becoming his and Jenny’s roommate all of a sudden. Sumit confessed, “this is the process we're kind of in between, trying to convince the family,” as he added that they’ll be seen trying to reduce the conflicts in the family in season 3. “That's why my mom's going to come to our house and live together, and let's see,” continued the Uttar Pradesh-based 90 Day Fiancé celeb. “This is her idea to come together and see how Jenny can be a good wife,” Sumit, 32, further revealed.
Meanwhile, 61-year-old Jenny mentioned that it’s Sumit’s mother’s idea to come and live with them so as to see if the American lady is taking care of her son or not. When reminded that Sahna had threatened Sumit with suicide, he spoke of taking the warnings seriously. Sumit affirmed that he has been repeatedly trying to show his mom that he was unhappy with his ex-wife and being with Jenny is what he wants. “Maybe it’s different than a normal couple but we are happy together, but we are happy together,” is what Sumit and Jenny want Sahna to see. “She loved me once and I’m pretty sure she can love me again,” Jenny professed, as she teased that Sumit’s mother might “come around.”
Fans have been hopeful of getting to see Jenny and Sumit married in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 3. If not, fans have asked Jenny to quit being desperate and come back to the States. However, things seem to have gone the right way as Jenny is still in India, and possibly married to Sumit by now without having to worry about her visa woes. The couple has dropped several clues about their nuptials, but whether Jenny really becomes Mrs. Sumit is something that only season 3 can unveil.
