The Mormon man expects Alina to remain a virgin and be baptized into his church, even though he is hiding the secret that he has had sex. Furthermore, Steven wants to talk to other women despite his impending nuptials to Alina. Steven dropped another bombshell on Alina when it came to their plan to marry in Turkey so Steven could then accompany Alina to her native Russia. Steven voiced that he wanted the couple to live in separate apartments so he wouldn't be "tempted" to have sex with Alina every night. Alina slammed this idea for being unsafe, as she expressed she did not want to be alone in a foreign country.
Reddit user U/srose89 called Steven out for his attitude and demands with Alina. "This guy is slimy. Alina is scared to be alone but he doesn’t want to stay together because of his religious views and her ability to be baptized while simultaneously lying about his virginity and asking to talk to other women… seems like he’s a hypocrite," the user wrote. Commenters agreed that Steven was only thinking about his own needs, while he also wasn't respecting Alina and her feelings. "I don't like him, he does a lot of things for attention too, just very childish and thoughtless a lot of the times. If he had any respect for his girlfriend and any amount of self control, he could sleep in the same apartment with her too," one commenter wrote.
