In a preview for the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Steven Johnston’s secret may be revealed by his friends before he flies to Turkey with Russian woman Alina, as his friends talk about how flirty and fickle he's been in the past. Utah native Steven made his debut in season 3 of the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off and won over TLC viewers instantly. Steven with a V has been discussed by fans for his hair, his jokes about selling organs and also for being “just different,” as he described his sweet relationship with Alina. However, Steven has not lived a “perfect life,” as Alina believes.
At 25, Steven, with his lion’s mane, calls himself the jack of all trades when it comes to working and has done everything from marketing to door-to-door sales. Although 90 Day Fiancé star Steven feels that bugs have spirits, he currently works in pest control and is readying to move to Turkey to marry Alina. The couple met via a language app, and Alina was scared that “cult” member Steven would sell her organs due to her Russian beliefs when he told her he’s Mormon. Still, after dating for a year, Steven hopes Alina agrees to convert once they get married in Turkey within 90 days and he gets a spousal visa to enter Russia.
However, the 90 Day Fiancé couple has spent only two weeks in person, though Steven and Alina spent their year talking on the phone. But a bigger worry is why Steven has fallen short of the standards of the church. 90 Day Fiancé's Instagram page posted a clip from Sunday’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode that shows Steven meeting his group of friends before he leaves in a week and letting them know about his marriage plans. His friend Jordan thinks that Steven is “playing games,” and Matt describes him as a “lovable odd duckling.” Steven’s friends think he hasn’t really given marriage a thought and wonder if Alina is the right choice since the adventurous TOW star wakes up with a new dream every day.
“How do you know you don’t just wake up 20 days into Turkey and suddenly you see another girl or you have something else that you want to do and it sounds better and more appealing to you?” asks Matt, who explains that Steven doesn’t stick to things and has a hard time “sticking to one relationship.” The 90 Day Fiancé cast member is flirty and flirts with people who he’s not even interested in. However, TOW cast member Steven wants to move on and be “a better Steven" because he’s been “slow to commit” in previous relationships. Moreover, there are some parts about his past that are not endorsed by the church, which he isn’t “especially proud of.”
This new 90 Day Fiancé cast member, with his charming ways, might just become a franchise villain if this secret ends up being something too awful. Fans have tried to guess what Steven is hiding and why it’ll be so “devastating” for Alina. There’s a possibility that Steven may have cheated on a past girlfriend or perhaps may have not been faithful to Alina herself. But he is hell-bent on taking the risk to be with his soulmate, which proves that however sketchy his history may have been, 90 Day Fiancé star Steven really cares for Alina.
