Fans of 90 Day Fiancé believe that their first lesbian couple, Stephanie Matto and Erika Owens, isn't the LGBTQ representation they wanted. Most fans feel that they were let down by the network's choice as the two women do not seem to embrace their sexual identity, as they act more like best friends than lovers

Currently, 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days is following around a whole new group of Americans who are hoping to find their true love abroad. Stephanie Matto has received over her story as some fans have called it boring. The Yonkers native met Erika Owens when the two stumbled upon each other on YouTube.

Recently, Matto had been at the center of what appeared to be a lie it was reported that the reality star had come out as bisexual to her family almost three years ago. But the vlogger had been telling TLC cameras that she was scared to tell her family about her sexuality. Now, according to Reddit, many fans feel cheated out of the franchise’s first gay couple. According to the outlet, fans of the popular show and its spin off’s have been begging for a couple to represent the gay community, but feel the network missed its mark.

Many of the network’s viewers are angry that Stephanie and Erika were given a storyline when there were many others they could have chosen from. During the last episode, all-new episode fans watched as the couple had their first kiss. Unlike many other first kisses’ in the show this particular kiss was zoomed in on by the film crew and had cheesy porn-like music added to it. Many felt as if they were about to watch an erotic video and were given the feeling that TLC was trying to seduce men into watching the show to help with their ratings. The audience has pointed out both women are full-chested and over-sexualized which makes it feel as if the maybe authentic couple are just experimenting with their sexuality.

While the fan base was left bewildered at the network’s choice of their first gay couple, many are wondering if they will ever see a genuine LGBTQ relationship. The outlet also pointed out that the target audience is mostly straight women and feel TLC missed the mark on their particular storyline. 90 Day Fiancé may have shifted to be a show based on modern-day dating rather than finding one’s true love as some couples really do not seem to have the spark. Now fans are demainding a re-do with some new LGBTQ representation.
