Most love stories on the TLC show have happy endings, but the series has also featured some of the most painful breakups in the history of reality TV. However, there are times when it’s the unfortunate death of a loved one that a 90DF cast member is unable to process, even when fans offer their heartfelt condolences. There have been times when 90DF stars' nearest and dearest pass away, and they still have to keep filming.
Recently, fans learned about the tragic passing of 90 Day Fiancé season 9 star Guillermo Rojer’s brother, José Joaquín. Guillermo could not go back to the Dominican Republic to see his brother because of his visa restrictions. Previously, Corey Rathgeber went through a similar episode when his father, who had been a part of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 1, died from an inflamed pancreas. This happened when Corey was in Ecuador with his then-girlfriend, Evelin Villegas. Kim Menzies’ mom Sally sadly died in January.
Fans had met Kim’s mother Sally when her daughter was flying to Tanzania to meet Usman Umar AKA "Sojaboy" for the first time. Popular 90 Day Fiancé twins Darcey Silva and Stacey Silva often fondly remember their older brother Michael Silva, who passed away in July 1998. Darcey and Stacey’s brother was just 24 years old when he was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Ewing sarcoma. Anny Francisco & Robert Springs’s Baby Adriel
Popular 90 Day Fiancé couple Robert and Anny first welcomed a daughter they named Brenda Aaliyah on July 28, 2020. Robert was already a father to five other children before Brenda, including his son Bryson, who was a part of 90 Day Fiancé. Robert was mocked for being irresponsible by fans when he and Anny announced their second baby. On September 7, 2021, Robert and Anny welcomed baby Adriel into the world. The pregnancy was difficult for Anny, who was suffering from sciatica, and was unable to walk properly. In November 2021, the couple revealed that Adriel was in hospital, and asked fans to pray for him. While the baby did come back home safely, Anny used Instagram on April 21 of this year to share the unfortunate news of seven-month-old Adriel’s passing. While the grieving parents haven’t told 90 Day Fiancé fans the cause of their baby’s death, Anny hinted at him having a heart condition in her statement.
Cassia Tavares' Ex-Husband Jason Hitch
US Army veteran Jason first featured on 90 Day Fiancé season 2 with his now ex-wife, Cassia. The couple had a shocking storyline, in which Jason and Cassia from Brazil, who had a 15-year age gap, went through divorce twice. Their final split was confirmed by Cassia in 2018, after which she married a different man. The news of 45-year-old Jason’s death due to COVID-19 in a Florida hospital was confirmed by his sister Sharon in December 2021. While it seems like Jason did not have any pre-existing conditions, fans claimed that his Instagram posts made it look like he was anti-mask and anti-vaccine. “When I started receiving messages, I thought it was a joke. I’m shocked,” 90 Day Fiancé celeb Cassia had revealed in her statement.
Angela Deem’s Mother Glenda Standridge
Georgia woman Angela lost her mom Glenda, on February 8, 2020. It was just ten days after Angela got married to Michael Ilesanmi in a Nigerian wedding ceremony. Angela had been a caregiver to her 77-year-old ailing mom, while she also worked as a nursing assistant at a hospice. The late Glenda had a long and debilitating battle with cancer, and had other serious health complications. Mere hours after Angela’s wedding, she’d received a phone call, hearing that her mother was found unresponsive. Glenda was rushed to an intensive care unit, where she remained in critical condition. Reality TV celeb Angela, who was very close to her mom, often shares sweet memories of her past with 90 Day Fiancé fans on Instagram, especially on every Mother’s Day that she spends without her beloved mom. Some 90 Day Fiancé lives have been touched by tragedy, but cast members who lose loved ones always remember what was beautiful and meaningful, and do their best to move forward, as those who have passed on would want them to.
