Its many franchise stars have been featured in some of the most memorable reality television fights, including some that warranted police intervention. While drama is a key component of reality television, some franchise cast members went too far and are no longer associated with the network.
When it comes to terminating contracts, TLC has allowed a surprising number of sketchy personalities to continue within the franchise. Despised cast members, such as Colt Johnson, are currently appearing in the Discovery+ spin-off show 90 Day: The Single Life. However, other stars have been let go for seemingly minor offenses. On the other hand, there have been individuals and couples who chose to walk away from the show. Broadcasting one's life to the world is clearly not something for everyone, and some stars felt the show had inaccurately depicted them. Larissa Lima
Season 6 star Larissa Lima has been one of the most explosive, dramatic and followed personalities in the franchise. The Brazilian bombshell who had a nasty split from ex-husband Colt Johnson provided a lot of spill-over drama on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After, where she also got together with on-again-off-again boyfriend Eric Nichols. The 34-year-old mother had her contract with TLC terminated after she appeared in an online lingerie show. This seemed like a surprising choice, especially since many 90 Day Fiancé stars reveal more of themselves on platforms such as OnlyFans. Larissa has since spoken out against the network and their choice to continue airing content that features her for profit. Larissa's firing is perhaps the most well-known breakup between TLC and a reality star.
Ashley Martson
Fellow season 6 star Ashley Martson apparently decided on her own that she no longer wanted to be a part of the franchise. Though it took her three tries to finally divorce her husband Jay Smith, Ashley has been more vocal about wishing to separate from the network that aired her international romance with a younger man. Ashley has thanked her supportive fans and stated that she didn’t regret being on the show. However, she has opened up about falsifying and fabricating aspects of her life to fit into the narrative being shown on air. Ashley has expressed that she wants to live a normal and authentic life away from the cameras, so it’s highly unlikely that she will ever be returning for more TLC content.
Omar Albakour & Avery Mills
Omar Albakour and Avery Mills are a fan-favorite couple who appeared on the spin-off show 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days. The couple portrayed a rather positive story of international love that resulted in American Avery moving to Dubai to live with her Syrian husband after he couldn't join her in the United States. The couple has been open with providing Instagram and YouTube content about their lives in the Middle East with fans. However, they have stated on both shared social media accounts that they are absolutely done with 90 Day Fiancé and any of its spin-off shows. Though the couple didn't reveal any drama, they emphasized that the show is definitely not for them. Mark & Nikki Shoemaker
While Avery and Omar remained civil while parting ways, it was far messier for controversial season 3 couple Mark and Nikki Shoemaker. Though 90 Day Fiancé has portrayed many considerable age gaps, fans found it was impossible to get behind the whopping 39-year age gap between 19-year-old Filipina Nikki and 58-year-old Mark. Fans were extremely creeped out by their relationship, especially since all four of Mark’s children were older than his new wife. After their season aired, the couple decided to sue TLC on the claim that they broke written promises. While their lawsuit was eventually dismissed, it is apparent that Mark and Nikki are one couple who will never appear on the network again. The couple has no social media presence, which leaves the current status of their relationship completely up in the air.
Melyza Zeta (rumor)
Melyza Zeta was one reality star who appeared happy to break ties with TLC after appearing alongside Tim Clarkson on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The Columbian addressed rumors about her contract with TLC after both she and Tim failed to appear on the show’s finale. When fans asked Melyza if the show had let both her and Tim go, she cryptically replied that her prayers had been answered. Many fans took her response to mean that she was no longer associated with TLC. However, it appears as though Melyza has patched up her working relationship as she is currently appearing in the Discovery+ spin-off show 90 Days Bares All.
Deavan Clegg (rumor)
Fellow 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, who was recently voted the franchise's most disliked personality, has also been rumored to be on the outs with TLC. The 24-year-old has been involved in countless drama and lies over the past several weeks alone. It appears as though Deavan's entire existence is marked with lies and rumors, as the mother-of-two is frequently caught being dishonest. That is why many fans doubt her denials that TLC fired her. However, Deavan maintains that the network has not let her go.
Lisa “Babygirl” Hamme (rumor)
Lisa “Babygirl” Hamme is another cast member who has denied being fired. The controversial 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days star claimed that TLC did not fire her after her explosive n-word controversy. Fans were outraged after Lisa’s former husband Usman revealed that she had called him the n-word, which led to many believing that TLC had severed ties with her. Though she denied the rumors, many fans think that Lisa’s time on television was cut short because of her actions. Claims have not been verified by Lisa or TLC.
Paul & Karine Staehle (rumor)
Paul and Karine Staehle are another 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way couple who have an uncertain future with the network. Many fans find Paul's behavior to be disturbing and controlling and are currently worried for the safety of Karine and their two young boys. The couple has brought up many alarming allegations of abuse in the past before getting back together. Their erratic behavior has led to fans believing that the network wants to end their relationship with the tumultuous couple.
