A confrontation between Andrei Castravet and his brother-in-law on a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? certainly brought the drama, but fans are saying it was all fake. There’s been a lot of talk lately about allegedly scripted scenes on the show, and it’s not hard to see why. Fans are highly suspicious about the scene with Andrei and think it might be one of the most fabricated in the franchise.

On this season of Happily Ever After?, Andrei has been trying to worm his way into his wife Libby’s family business and help with flipping houses. During a so-called demolition day, Andrei busted into the kitchen of the house being remodeled determined to smash up as much of it as possible. Mid-way through hammering off a refrigerator door like Thor having a temper tantrum, Libby’s brother Charlie Potthast showed up to put the kibosh on Andrei’s “remodeling.”

Fans took issue with the scene because of how scripted it seemed. “The whole kitchen scene was almost too fake to handle,” a fan commented on Reddit. In addition to the awkward dialogue, fans claim that the level of daylight that can be seen through the window varies wildly throughout the scene. Some also pointed out that it’s odd that Charlie said a neighbor called to alert him to what Andrei was doing, because why would a neighbor of a house being flipped have Charlie’s cell number?

This isn’t the first time the show has been accused of being scripted—many of the series’s stars have spoken out about the franchise staging scenes. As 90 Day Fiancé gets more popular, the network may be feeling pressured to make the show more dramatic and therefore more entertaining, but it seems to be having the opposite effect. Fans don’t appreciate how fake the show has gotten and think it’s leading to the downfall of the franchise.

So far on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, fans haven’t been happy with what they’ve seen, and Libby and Andrei are among their least favorite couples. So it doesn’t help that viewers now think the scenes with Andrei and Libby aren’t even real. There’s a certain amount of editing and liberties taken when making a reality TV show, but fans think the franchise went way too far during the scene between Andrei and Charlie.
