Popular 90 Day Fiancé star Usman “Sojaboy” Umar says he’s in love with his new girlfriend, Kim, from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 5 after splitting from Lisa “BabyGirl” Hamme. Nigerian man Usman is the only older cast member returning to Before the 90 Days this season but this time as a part of the show’s seven new couples. Usman confirmed his divorce in December 2020, and Lisa's now happily married to her childhood friend. Meanwhile, Usman is being featured on billboards in Times Square as he makes his comeback with Kim, who graduated from being a Sojaboy fangirl to now his girlfriend.
Just like the shocking age gap of 21 years between Babygirl and Sojaboy, Kim is also 50 years old, making her 18 years older than Usman. It appears that Kim became a fan of Usman after watching him on 90 Day Fiancé. She was the first to reach out to him on social media. Musician Usman responded to Kim from San Diego, and the couple spoke for months over calls, texts and video chats. However, Usman did admit that because the marriage with Lisa left a sour taste in his mouth, he wanted to be sure before dating an older American woman all over again. This time on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, Kim will be heading to Tanzania to watch Usman film his next music video. However, the trailer has predicted trouble ahead for Usman and Kim.
On the other hand, Usman recently did an interview with Access, where he seemed excited to be the first African 90 Day Fiancé cast member to break up with an American and come back with a new relationship on the show. According to Usman, his relationship with Kim is “normal” and it has its usual ups and downs. “She’s beautiful, she’s nice, she’s supportive,” said Usman as he added that Kim being “loyal” is her best quality. Usman appreciates that about Kim, which is why he said that his “relationship is good.” It appears that Kim’s loyalty is what drew Usman to her. “I am proud to say that I love her,” Sojaboy admitted.
“Her loyalty is [the] number one thing that nobody would question,” Usman told the interviewer as he explained, “I don’t think there’s any way you can find somebody that’s so loyal like Kimberly.” Usman thinks that it’s difficult for someone to find a woman who possesses the same kind of loyalty that Kim does. He wasn’t hesitant about getting into a new relationship because Lisa is "married already," so he didn’t see a point in waiting. Still, Kimberly managed to break “all the barriers” that Usman had about never dating anyone after Lisa. Kim “tries to make sure that she make[s] me happy,” he declared.
Usman believes that “the beauty in the face” is not something that one should pick over “the beauty in the heart” since it would never fade away when one turns 45. Kim is beautiful “inside and outside,” according to Sojaboy, and he couldn’t stop gushing about her in the video. Regardless, the trailer has shown Kim’s jealous streak, which is making 90 Day Fiancé fans compare her to Lisa. Some fans also feel that Kim is a replacement for Babygirl Lisa in the franchise. However, Usman claiming he loves her does change things, to the point that if he is being honest, one should not be surprised to see them married at the end of the 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days finale.
